IMO the RFL needs to look at the fixture structure in the Championship and Championship1. One way to mend it would be to merge the two divisions and run the NRC as a straight knock out contest. Therefore Leigh need not worry.
I would assume even if relegated they could apply for a franchise winning promotion straight back and winning the NRC to earn their tick in the box.

No thanks, I'd rather play in C1 and have a bit of success rather than have a 21 team league, with 14 teams having nowt to play for for the last half dozen games! Don't want to return to the days of us beating York 84-1 with Timmy Street kicking goals. Wouldn't mind beating Gateshead 82-0 again in current context though |
