| Wikipedia says:
Barrow-in-Furness (Cumbric: Barragh-yn-Faiddis), often known simply as Barrow, is an industrial town and seaport which forms about half the territory of the wider Borough of Barrow-in-Furness in the county of Cumbria, England.
Historically a part of Lancashire
Barrow is the largest town in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness and the largest settlement in the peninsula of Furness. The borough is the direct inheritor of the municipal and county borough charters given to the town in the late 1800s. Historically it is part of the Hundred of Lonsdale 'north of the sands' in the historic county boundaries of Lancashire. Since the local government reforms enacted in England in 1974 the town has been within the administrative shire and ceremonial county of Cumbria. It still forms a part of the official UK government administered Duchy of Lancaster. The Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council forms the 'lower' tier of local government under Cumbria County Council.
Barrow is unique within Cumbria and the local dialect tends to be more Lancashire oriented.

Not really since most British people are too stupid to know what country they live in never mind county.
As for the thread why should fans from Whitehaven and Workington support a totally separate club from about 50 miles away, regardless of arbitrary local government boundaries?

| In answer to the OP, why the hell would we be going to support Barrow ?
Will fans of Batley, Dewsbury, Fev, Hunslet, York, Keighley, Sheffield, Doncaster etc be travelling to Blackpool to support Halifax if they make the final ?

| Barrow is in the ceremonial and administrative county of Cumbria.
Historically it is still in Lancashire, and remains apart of the County Palatine.
Whatever people stress their loyalties with is fine with me. Though what the heck this is has to do with RL is beyond me.

| Quote bowes="bowes"It's equally as much in Lancashire as anywhere like Wigan is. It's in Lancashire in proper counties, but Cumbria in administrative counties. Hard to see anyone attached to administrative counties as they change all the time, just this year Cheshire got abolished officially and most major towns are stand alone not in any county'"
That depends if you have ever played Rugby League for that admistrative county, as a Barrow lad you get selected for Cumbria, not Lancashire.

Well that is just sick. Whatever happened to the traditional Rugby League county side of Cumberland and why, if they made a team out of a ised hybrid then why not split Lancashire up into Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester and split Yorkshire up into West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Humberside?
Barrow lads were traditionally picked for thier true County, Lancashire.
