This is not good for our sport or any sport, this will drive prices down.

The Beeb have no money and ITV are not far off in the bankrupt steaks either leaving only Sky. You can bet they will now drive down the price paid as I know Sky have also suffered from the cut backs from people either cancelling or reducing the package they buy.

I bet football clubs are crapping themselves as they will lose Setanta money and only Sky is left in the market place for there product. Sky will maybe force a re setting of the prices now as the Setanta matches will become available by default.

And that, my friend is capitalism....

You mean prices paid to the Sports, yeah, rather than prices paid by the end user, which can surely only go UP. There will be no competition and Sky will have a monopoly and the ability to charge whatever it likes. Good times Rupert.

Back in the day, the Govt may have taken an interest in the situation, but they seem to have other fish to fry at the moment.

Not if you don't want Setanta to go under. As far as I can see, they've not actually gone into administration yet.

The thing is, these things are often self fulfilling prophecies. Word gets out that they may be in trouble (and don't forget, Setanta themselves have not commented, yet), people start to cancel direct debits, which starves the company of cash, so they go under anyway because of it.

After the difficulties I had in cancelling it doesn't surprise me, i'm sure like many others, the fact it was so hard last year, stopped me going back again this year.
