| Quote kobashi="kobashi"Wane has said in the past he has a desire to work in the NRL but no way he will go as an assistant and why should he.
That's a step back in his career. He will only go as a first team coach'" No NRL club will give him a first team appointment.

| Rod Studd tweeting it’s 100% not Catalans. A few rumours of going to Union to be the defensive coach for Scotland or even England seem to be going round.
Wane spoke of new challenges and a new direction so it wouldn’t surprise me. He also spoke about how tough the last two years in the Wigan job have been with him being under huge pressure to win things whilst battling player departures and a bad injury list (until this season touch wood), so a few years kicking back in Union teaching players how to do the ‘pile on’ may be just what he needs.
He’s done an incredible job all things considered.

| If Shaun Wane goes to Catalans, to join Samuel Tomkins and Michael McIlorum, then expect the Catalans to be a top 4 side in 2019.
But I think that it is important for David Mead to be full back, Anthony Gigot to be centres, and Samuel Tomkins to be in the halves with Joshua Drinkwater.

| Wigan is Wanes family, flesh and blood. He isn't a 'career' kind of bloke. If he's done, that's it.

Isn't Stephen McNamara still under contract though?

He didn't actually say it was the job in the last 2 years that had particularly bothered him I don't think?
Don't under estimate how much personal/family stuff over the last Few years may have had on him and I think this was a Big part of that statement.
I think maybe a lot of fan criticism may have got to him (As your usual experts have been quick to put the knife in whenever possible rather than look at the job he's done as a whole) but I don't think having to deal with injuries or player losses etc. bothered him to that extent, I always think he looked upon that as a challenge.

Yes, but I think that his contract can be torn up if he doesn't get better results from his star studded team.
Bernard Guasch might even be willing to pay out Steven McNamara's contract.
yes

He will move to a director of rugby role and oversee recruitment etc similar role to radlinski at Wigan.
Wane will be head coach of Catalan in 2019, mark my words. I dont care what Rod Studd says.

| Wane to Catalans sounds a good shout. Taking them from a rock bottom position the only way is up so he can't really lose and you always felt with the right man there they should be knocking on the door of the top 4 again like when Robinson was in charge.
