Gareth Hock was good for Leigh during the second half of his three year stint there. Mid way through the 'promotion' season, he apparently had the riot act read to him, and he really became more disciplined. Last season, in SL, he had a few outstanding games, but his problem, (along with the other 'experienced' squad members) was that he couldn't raise his game consistently, and he suffered a number of injuries.

I think his dream of one more season in SL was just that - a dream. Providing he can steer clear of injury, and he maintains his discipline, he could well be a huge asset to Featherstone.

Outstanding against us (Wire) at your place early doors, (not hard in retrospect given how our season panned out), but, presume he wasn't/couldn't do it week in week out?

I'm sorry Corkey if our William's upset you, even I know what a cracking player Micky Higham has been, not sure where Danny Tickle comes into it, but me and our Will's uncle Alf once took him to watch Trin play at Wigan, he asked Hock for his autograph and he told him to do one or words to that effect, so maybe there's a clue there

Quite simple really. He was part of a poor pack for Leigh last year.

TBH, I don't think we did have a bad pack. Injuries,suspensions, and a small squad didn't help and it took it's toll in the end.

Thanks Uncle Rico. In addition to the Wire game, we had outstanding wins against Saints, Hull, Huddersfield, Wigan, and Salford. The problem was that we couldn't then do it again the following week - especially against the teams at the BOTTOM of the table! (Wire excepted! ) We had too many older players, who couldn't perform at a high level each week.

Good luck to yourselves this season. I'm not expecting you to figure in the Middle 8's this time. I wonder if any of the fancied teams will end up there again? (you last season, and Leeds the season before)
