What a dramatic fall from grace for Rangi Chase!
In 2011 he was Man of Steel and first choice half for the England team, there was even offers from the NRL in the ether Just 3 seasons later and still only 29 years old he's consigned to playing in the lower divisions for Leigh.

Playing in a lower division is a bit of a come down but, don't be fooled if you think Rangi has gone to Leigh because they were the only option. He has gone to Leigh because they offered the most cash - the best deal. He could have gone to RU, SL or ARL - most have already got their half's sorted for next year as well as their budgets. |

Have you seen the picture of Rangi signing at Leigh ? the guy is a shell of a man,Salford have killed him.Im hopeful Leigh can make him smile again the same as Hock is. |

The fact that Marwan and his Salford circus chased Rangi to be the man to lead their club to the domination of Super League
But a short while later they decided to let the mercurial mercenary leave the club without being nothing more than a laughing stock who languished in the lower positions of the division despite their huge outlay
The fact that he has gone to the next SL wannabe pretenders in Leigh says as much about that club that it does the player i'm affraid, I hope that all this outlay pays off because sadly if it doesn't then i can see Leigh suffering the consequences
Maybe then Rangi could steer the Gloucestershire All Golds to promotion

Big Bad Salford.Paid him a load of cash and treated him like a superstar.Must have been Salford that made him cheat on his wife and Salford who made her walk out on him.Salford made him miss training and stay in South of France on the lash at a crucial time of our season letting his team mates and fans down.
Lets get some perspective here.The guy has serious issues away from the playing field.Salford tried hard to help him but the guy has to want the help.
I genuinely wish him all the best and that Leigh can help him sort his head and life out because he is a magician on the field and a pleasure to watch him play the game. |
