Not really, we have the joys of selecting from amateurs in a few towns in a small region of southern France. Leigh is in a very densely populated area with kids growing up in a more pro-RL environment. Catalans have no advantages at all.

Pretty pointless them being in SL unless they are growing the French game. How bad must French RL be if they can't form one team from a whole country of jnrs? Their systems must be terrible.

No you have the advantage of developing a jnr system for thousands of kids playing RL in the sth of France with no competition for cherry picking the best. The fact after all these years catalans still can not find 20 decent SL standard players from that pool is a damning indictment on the quality of the French jnr systems and Catalans scouting and development program's for the elite of those jnrs.

In WA we only have around 300 jnrs playing RL in AFL land but still manage to develop players going on to play in NRL. It's as much about the system as the numbers.

Don't tell people that! Only Huddersfield get poor crowds for the play offs! Biggest percentage of home support for a play off game in 2014 so let's slag Huddersfields crowds shall we?
