| Nip and tuck first half but Leeds' experience showed - they managed that game in the second half superbly well.
Sinfield's kick from the ptb on the Cas line was a masterstroke of game management; you'd have to be a ninja to take that ball cleanly, and yet you have to go for it. Lovely stuff.

If either of those try's had been called back for shentons poor attempt at milking penalties it would have been a joke.

The most disappointing thing regarding those is that we had to go to the video referee. Seems all a defender has to do nowadays is run over to the ref after a try and say "ref I was obstructed" and he'll go to the screen. (ALL teams are doing BTW before anyone starts).

| I saw no problem with any of the obstruction rulings tonight.
Castleford could possibly be aggrieved with the penalty they conceded early in the second half, but if Tansey (I think) didn't put himself in the same hole as Sneyd, there'd of been no doubt.

Gareth Ellis has also been outstanding this year after retiring from internationals and focusing on a full solid pre season.
On Peacock, I love him. Unbelievable athlete. If I ever see another player like him in my lifetime then I've been lucky.

| Re:obstruction
I would suggest that it is a players bad defensive read and because of the "it's always someone else's fault" culture they will not accept being caught out.
There were errors in the game from all involved. That's normal and CONSISTANT.
This isn't a game played by robots and computers.

| Thought the ref had a good game and it's disappointing that most posts on here are about the Ref, when it was a great game and some excellent performances from players of both teams, many of them young and have a great future in Sl and hopefully internationally.
Watkins
Sutcliffe
Sneyd
Clarke
Are the players we should be taking about not the ref.
Also what an effort from Peacock, looked a good crowd also.
Sorry for being positive

| Excellent game to watch. It was one of those where you daren't take your eyes off the screen. We should have seven games like that every week.
Castleford were excellent and if they can keep that team fit and healthy throughout the season, they will do very well. Daryll Powell deserves a lot of credit for the way he has turned that team around.
I think both teams were very well disciplined, considering how ferociously the game was played. It really irritates me when people look at penalty counts as an excuse to bash the referee and I thought Silverwood had a good game apart from the Tom Briscoe drop-out call as mentioned before.
Similarly, people calling out Silverwood for not taking Leeds back 10m should look at the video again and Leeds' line speed in defence. At times, it was lightening quick and in that second half, they managed territory superbly. I can't recall Castleford getting out of their half much in that last 15min.
I'd also agree that the short turnaround was probably a big factor for Castleford and I'd like to see some sort of agreement put in place that says teams with a Thursday game should play on the Fri / Sat prior. Four days recovery is not enough.

There was more complaining at the game about Cas being offside, than there were Leeds offside. I don't know how it looks on the TV yet, but at the match you could see things clear. Leeds line defence speed was slow last night, Cas were quicker in that department. However, neither side was offside, as Silverwood on most plays went back 12 yards himself, allowing the leeway for the players to be slightly in front of him.
The major complaint of Silverwood was the holding down. Something Cas were doing all game, and something you can understand when they had such a short turn around they needed the game slowed, not fast, something all teams in the same situation would do.

There has being no inconsistency at all this season with the obstruction ruling. They have it spot on at the moment, unlike other seasons. They are quite clear on the rules, and it is much easier to interpret. If the man passing the ball is on the left shoulder of the dummy runner, and the man receiving is on the right, or vise versa on the on the left side of field, then it is not obstruction. As long as no player runs behind the runner.
They have applied that all season so far, and it is working. Last nights, especially the first, were not even close to pushing that ruling.
