Well, he was BORN in England...kind of makes him English, unlike he extended vacationers like Rangi.

You don't watch much NRL do you?
Chase has done enough to qualify for England, and has done for a number of years, why would we not pick him, when he's proved time and time again that he's a quality player?

| We still going on about this? It's not 1964, reality is every sport in the world will happily use non citizens for their country if it strengthens the chance of them winning something. You really think RL should or will be any different?
I see that well known Jap Craig Wing has just helped the Japan national RU team win a game for the first time.

| This is such a pointless thing to get uptight about. I reckon we could name hundreds and hundreds of players that represent countries they wern't born in.
The only issue is when players represent a nation and then change their minds to one of the 'big three.'
Uate, Mason, Hayne, Brough, Harrison, McIlorum etc. I just think if the international committee could get everyone's heads together and encourage players to stick with the smaller nations it would be better in years to come for International RL.

| Nothing to see here ladies and gentlemen. This is a non-issue IMO. Poeple need to get over it. Rangi Chase is here to stay so we better start getting used to it.

To be honest I do not care were he comes from if he was Chinese I would not care has long has he is a good player, but in my opinion he is not good enough to play for England he goes missing to much

In the Tigers team he has a free reign - basically he can play whatever role he wants. There is no real structure, no shackles. He is THE go-to player. For England he struggles with not having the freedom he is used to. He is a luxury player. I have no doubt he will be on the bench for England with Widdop and Myler or Sinny starting.
Great player to watch though. Last night was fantastic.

| Quote dboy="dboy"Reed is English - born, if not bred.
Chase is a New Zealander, born and bred. Chase does not have an Australian accent.
Widdop has an English accent.
HTH'"
I'm completely struggling to see what your point is?
Chase has a New Zealand accent, so he's from New Zealand.
Widdop has an English accent, so he's English.
Reed has an Australian accent, but that doesn't matter.
What point are you trying to make about accents?

| Either way, it isn't Rangi who makes the rules, they were in place long before he joined Cas. Sam Burgess has expressed his desire to play Origin & why wouldn't he wanna play?
But fair play to you for pointing out he was Man of the Match last night, another man of the match accolade for the England International and Man of steel 2011.

Rangi Chase has an English family(wife and kid), is an English citizen and has lived in England for years. His own cousin tried to break his angle for being a traitor, supposedly.
Jack Reed is some guy who was raised in Australia and is Australian for all intents and purposes. To say he's more English than Rangi is puzzling, who lives here and has an English child? Not Reed.
Your views belong in the 1800s tbh. Wonder if you'd be so supportive of Reed if he was an ethnic Ugandan born in England and moved to Australia

Someone else brought Reed into it. He shouldn't play for England either.
Not sure what you mean with your last sentence...are you calling me a racist?
