Where Widnes is located it would originally have being part of the County of Cheshire (hundred of West Derby) up until 1182 when the land North of the Mersey was devolved to the newly created Lancashire. In the early 70s Widnes then became part of Cheshire again (avoding being part of the new Merseyside). It seems that the borough was swallowed up yet again to become governed as part of Liverpool City Region in 2009.

So I wouldn't call people from Widnes as being scousers, but jesus being led/governed by them is a fate worse than death..lmfao
