Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"So Kevin Sinfield. Where are all those who denied that he was terrible last week?
He isn't good enough at 6 at international level. Pure and simple. For all the solidity his organisational qualities bring, he is the reason we didn't push them closer tonight.
Score at 8-8 with nearly an hour played and we are on the Australian 10m line with a full set. Sinfield steps up as ever and pops two of his trademark short lateral passes that are around the ears of the runners. All the pressure gone and so were our chances. He did it again the next time we were in that position and it characterises the 4Nations for England. The pack has laid a decent enough platform but we've not been able to apply any pressure at all when it mattered.
He was dreadful today.'"
I'm one of them and I'm here. Sinfield had a very average final by his own high standards (as in my opinion did many England players)
Last week, however, he had a hand in
20 out of England's 28 points and there are still know-nowts on hear claiming he was terrible.
In the final, despite his below par showing, he had a hand in
all England's points.
Tomorrow Sinfield will still be a great player and you will still be tragically blinkered.
