| Quote: Sheldon "It's only similar to the attendance at parra for oz v png, and half the crowd went when the curtain raiser finished.'"
11,000 in a 22k stadium is not the same as selling out the 15k stoop. If england had played PNG in the curtain raiser we would have been lucky to sell 3,000 tickets........
Quote: Sheldon "In 2008 England v New Zealand was pretty well attended as it was competitive.'"
15K in a 24K stadium isn't well attended......it sold less tickets than expected....and it wasn't as competative as the last ANZAC test played at the Stoop........
Australia v NZ played in London will get a better crowd than if it were played in an M62 ground.......fans won't pay for anything other then their clubs games or maybe an Australia v England game......sad, but true.
England v NZ in 2009 got 19,390..........do you really think Australia v NZ would get anything like that in the north?

| Where do the majority of Kiwis and Aussies in England live?
London.
So NZ v Australia in London?
Makes perfect sense.

Your correct mate we wont get 90k however I feel filling the bottom bowl which I guess would be 40/50 k would be an achievable and would seen as successful

I asked for some details yesterday because I run trips using the RFL cashback scheme for community clubs - if not doing so, I'd recommend contacting your local amateur side and see if they are doing a trip as you'd be adding much needed funds to their coffers by m,aking arrangements through them.

| If we're going the double header route do the Milennium stadium rather than Wembley. Id imagine its much cheaper and lets be honest, its a lot easier to get there

| Quote: Sheldon "When you say success what have the attendences been?
The Aussies can't be bothered to watch their national side in parramatta, why should we cater for them?'"
The two Australia - New Zealand games played at Loftus road attracted over 15,000.
There were less than 13,000 in attendance at The Stoop in 2009.
Without significant discounting of tickets, I'd be surprised if you could pull that sort of crowd in Leeds or Wigan for an Aus-NZ group game.

Put the double header on the first saturday of October half-term. Free ticket for every child + teacher that took part in Powergen Champion schools comp, but they have to buy tickets for at least 2 accompanying adults, to show they're actually going to use the tickets. Schools have to sort out the transport themselves. Works for the FA...
It was easy for me to drag along a dozen mates from Devon in the 90s when GB played Aus at Wembley, none of whom had a clue about RL. We don't have events like that any more.
Millennium seems to make more sense in terms of cost to hire the ground and by virtue of Wales being in it, but Wales will be playing union autumn internationals as well as world cup qualifiers in football, so dates might be interesting.

Double-header, opening fixture, both on beeb, saturday afternoon, wembley, awesome!!
With decent ticket pricing and plenty of marketing, filling the stadium is doable.
I'd go, more of my RL following friends would go than the usual couple, and I'm sure a load of newbies to the game would be very tempted as well.
Wembley this season is the only way to build towards making the WC a proper success.
A double header there would be immense!

| i certainly think double header at wembley could work if the tickets are cheap enough allot of casual aussies, kiwis and welsh would go for the wembley experience even if there not into the sport if the price is right, affordable travel deals with train companys from the north and i think it would be a winner!
