I was in the upper tier of the East stand and clocked the sloshed Rovers lads mentioned on ere. The less said about them the better but although they might ave thought they were doin the right thing, those shoutin back at them to shut the f*** up should've just kept quiet.

The stretforf end, ie, saints end was impeccable. The noise came from high up in the east stand where the wiganers were

I thought it came from the North stand at the Wigan side.

This a reply to a few earlier posts, as much as Newton a great player and in some instances he was the best at what he did. There no way you can have a minute round of applause,,, only because of the manner of his death. The minute silence was more than sufficient. It's a crying shame that there was the odd few showing no respect and makin a mochery of Newton. But to me I will always remember Newton in the game vs Aussie in nz, when gb won, what a game he had that night...... Gone but no forgotten rip terry

Far be it from me to stick up for our nearest and dearest but if they were wearing Army clothes how do you know which team they supported?

The had written on the back that they were Hull KR fans.

Where we were sat at the Stretford end the minutes silence was well observed.
I did hear a few murmurs around the stadium but on a whole it was excellent.
May I also say well done to my fellow Saints fans(where we was anyway)on showing respect.

So why did one of them shout "SMACKHEAD" as soon as the minutes silence started? I was there, it was a deliberate attempt at being funny
