| Cannot make Edinburgh this year, but went to both Cardiffs, great concept that hopefully the RFl will keep, what about holding the event in Manchester, one day at OT 2nd day at COM, the stadiums are only 4 miles apart (according to Google) so shouldn,t be much hassle getting to either and of course the vast majority of supporters can travel over for the day.

| Quote: LS13 "Bring it local and share the 7 games over two 'derby' grounds over a weekend . eg . the KR/FC grounds , Rhinos/Bulls grounds , Cas/Wakey , OT/Salford , etc etc , and I might be interested in going .
I bet you could fill every match to capacity if it was local . Far better than a half-empty stadium if a foreign country where nobody gives a fk about RL .
Actually. forget the Cas/Wakey idea . It might not be such a good idea to hold all the games on the same field over two days .
It will wreck the grass .'"
What would you know about grass?

| Quote: Big Graeme "If you had been quick of the mark you would have got a cheap hotel (but even now they are not double the rack rate) and cheap train tickets, don't blame the event for you not being on the ball.'"
When I looked they were twice the rate that they were outside that weekend.
As to quick off the mark I once tried to book a hotel in Cardiff within minutes of an event being announced and tourist info told me ALL hotels were fully booked (which was clearly a lie, just they were operating a cartel). These cities know how to abuse supply and demand.

| If cost is a problem stay just outside of these places.
Livingstone, Glasgow etc cheap as chips.
It's the same in South Wales. If you stay in Newport, Bridgend, even Bristol you'd get it a lot cheaper for the sake of a train ride that is less than £10. In the first two cases a lot less.

The fact it is a bank holiday would have made a difference too, doesn't mean they were charging double the rack rate, even if one or two were there are still rooms around for rack rate.

WTF were you doing booking through Tourist Info?

Do you know how lame that sounds...

| Just got back in, having been in Edinburgh from 08:30 - 1pm today. Sadly I could see no advertising for the event. I walked the length of Princes Street and George Street. Not a poster, Flyer, or a bus with an advert on it.
The duty manager in the hotel I stayed in was aware, him being a union player/supporter but other than that three weeks out and it vseems fairly low profile.

| I'll add to what I said above, just checked Travel Inn, they have rooms in several Glasgow sites with easy access to Edinburgh for £58 for TWO nights, somewhere short of Dally's doubled prices

That's what i said! You can stay Central Glasgow for half the price. But what's the point in driving 6 hours + and then spending 2 days driving to and from Glasgow and being away from the RL crowd?

We have this wonderful invention called the train, it will take you from Glasgow to Edinburgh (and back) in around 45mins (to Haymarket) they run at least every 20 mins on the Saturday and 45mins on the Sunday. Wonderful invention too, maybe they'll catch on down south?
Stop coming up with excuses.
