| Scotland win the first Euro cup game 104-0 in front of a crowd of over 2000. Damn good start for Scotland! Now Italy know what a big step up this has been!

Scotland -24 had to be one of the bets of the year. Long time since I've seen such a cock up by the bookies.

| Fullback Jamie Benn dedicated his man of the match performance to a team-mate’s late mother as Scotland racked up a century against Italy in the opening match of the European Nations Cup.

Ireland should really be playing their games in Dublin. They played in a town which has a population of 11,575 on the same the day the hurling team, having made the All-Ireland Final for the first time in 15 years, were playing. Compare that to Dublin's population of 505,739.
Smart Ireland shirt.

| I was hoping that Lebanon would beat Scotland today, given that Lebanon do actually have a real rugby league comp of their own and so it would have been good to see them progress, but I think the conditions overwhelmed them for most of the match and they were only able to fight back late on. Still, a 22-10 loss was nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe next year they will make it through!
I was impressed by the ongoing improvement in the Welsh side and a 42-12 win over Ireland was good going given how short a time some of those Welsh lads have been playing at that level. They looked full of enthusiasm for most of the 80 and they are certainly picking up some nifty moves from Iestyn.
The final next weekend should be interesting!

I tipped Wales pre-competition and I can't see any reason to change that now.
Wales, Ireland and Serbia next week.

| Well done Scotland and Wales.
I'm obviously disappointed that Ireland didn't making it through. I hope the Welsh public enjoyed what their team offered up. Ireland started off so well but in the end Wales completley dominated so they deserve their win, it was a really enjoyable match.
Hopefully Ireland can finish up third and some of the new faces can push on, especially the domestic players who will be better off for the experience!

| i think rfl need to have a rethink on the international scene. they either promote these games proper or dont bother at all as todays european nation games today was a joke and embarrasment to rugby league.

I can understand this in terms of venues and attendances, which i defintley believe need a re think but the rugby on show in the Wales vs Ireland game was superb and Scotland + Lebanon did well in the horrific conditions.
