I am sick and tired of the misinformation being written on this thread.

I have just called ticketek and there are still category 5 seats available in NW 3428, row 4. That is a corner location, 3rd tier, near the front.

I will not take them because I want Category 1 tickets. It may require me buying a hospitality package.

The Rugby League express had its full back page saying just corporate packages available so surely it must be? or very close?

You will probably be served by an idiot who asks which World Cup game you are interested in, and who also thinks that the game on Saturday is being held at Millenium Stadium (my experience). But once you straighten him out, he will search for the best possible seats. Only Category 5 is still available I was told.

they would have been pretty good seats. "Third tier" in that stand is actually really the 2nd tier, only the North Stand has 3 proper tiers.

I'm sure the final will sell out, even at those prices. However, my mates and I were chatting at the weekend about the relative profile of RL compared to other sports. I would much rather prefer being a 2nd tier sport and have the accessibility to the players and access to tickets at sensible prices, rather than the alternative of having to pay £100+ to watch a single game of rugby.

You can't blame the RFU for putting the prices at the levels they are at, but it will completely price out a huge majority of the population from seeing a game (unless they put some deals on closer to the time for the games that are not selling out).

I managed to persuade a few non-rugby fans to go to some RL games, at Rochdale, Saints and Wembley, tickets cost them about £20. I can safely say that they wont be bothering to go to any of the RU games at those prices.

This is shocking.

I know some of the RL press pack had a moan that Grand Final tickets were too cheap and we undersell our events, but (forgetting they don't have to pay) the prices for the RLWC will have brought people in who'd never pay some of the prices at other events will try charge. Whether they come back or not, I doubt many will have had a bad experience of the RLWC.

Regarding the RU tickets, they could put any price and Twickenham would sell out. Money is no object down there. But they are trying to expand in the north, and i can't see people paying them sorts of prices to watch a Italy v.s Canada at Elland road.
