Terrible result for Wakey. Their fans got rather cocksure off the back of two 5th placed finishes and no trophies so I think it would be an absolute hoot should they end up taking the drop.

I don't know how many more weeks you can add to that but make it four as the week before their tactics against us were disgusting. Head hunting, thuggery, and rat boy is there for all to see as we score a try going in feet first on our winger, he should have been sent off there and then but didn't even get a caution.

That sounds like them! Unfortunately all McNamara has got Catalans doing is cheating and pushing/breaking every rule going.
Last season they were taking the p|ss with fake injuries slowing the game down and fake head impact assessments.
They’ve lost a lot of friends in the last couple of years, people often used to support them as their “2nd team”. I went to Wembley to support them back in ‘07 I think it was, yesterday I was wanting them to lose even though it drags my own club back into a relegation fight.

I watched the game with my son, and we said exactly the same - used to really enjoy their off the cuff, unpredictable style of play, and would often support them as our second team; but something has happened - possibly born out of that season when they decided that they were unfairly treated by officials and made videos in support of that view - to change the attitude and culture at the *whole* club. It seems now that they can't shake off that chippy attitude, and despite having some real class - players like Mead, Bousquet and Casty, who haven't a grubby bone in their bodies - they've gone all Greg Bird, and are just awful to watch.

That incident with Bird by the way, was one of the most shameful things I've ever seen on a RL pitch; I don't blame the ref at all, because he was obviously unsighted, but Bird should be retrospectively banned for that.

It placed my team in significant jeopardy, but I'm still glad that London beat them; they deserved the win.

Complete grub of a player, been using underhand tactics for years. didn't really help the result though.


RFL need to look at Birds conduct on the field and act on it

They have punched above their weight all season and now its about to end.

Yep, that's where I'm at with them. And we have to remember that it was their incessant cheating at the ruck that led to the refs finally losing patience and changing how it was refereed after the Cas game.

Strange. Couple of weeks ago poor Catalans were the victims of a couple of lazy Wire high slaps and Chris Hill's unstoppable gob. They were bad against London AGAIN but nowhere near the level they were against us where they pretty much escaped criticism.
