Simple solution to all the slowing down and messing about
Once a player has been put to ground or the ref has called held , defending players should not be allowed to change their grip/hold on the tackled player , if they do , it's a penalty , this would sort out all the issues we are currently seeing including the leaning on and pushing players as they PTB

| Quote meast="meast"Just us then? Must have missed every single team using those tactics in the last few years!
As for our forwards being effective? Which of our forwards have you been watching'"
I didn't say it was just Huddersfield. Just that controlling the speed of the play the ball is more important to Huddersfield than most other teams.
Huby, Crabtree, Kopczak, Ferres all do their bit each time I see Huddersfield. Plus the rest work well as a unit. Your forwards work very hard both in attack and defence. Which is why you're difficult to beat.

| They're the worst team in SL to watch. Very low risk with the ball, spoiling rugby without it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

| Game of the weekend, but because there were no soft tries in the first half, it was deemed 'not good enough' for the Magic Weekend, absolute pish. It was very intense.
Don't agree with the call for a penalty try against Mcgilviray either, not even taking the mickey here but I applaud his effort and determination to get back and save his team. He then goes and gets a brilliant try to earn his team a point, how he didn't receive MOTM and Dureau did for missing that kick, I don't know.
Hudds didn't deserve to lose. Probably a fair result.

| Silly thread. It'll be some other clubs turn to be critized for playing style next. If people don't like it they don't have to watch us. We aren't doing anything illegal... We just do what a lot of other clubs do but currently doing it better.
Far from wearing claret and gold glasses but I think we and Catalan served up a real good game today. First half included!

| Don't think this is really warranted. Bit of a niggly side but if the refs don't deal with it, you find a way.
Would say however I thought Hudds got the rub of the green, I've seen them three times get that rub of the green and not win. They had a big lead in the penalty count today, got lucky with a couple of decisions (Darrell Griffin must be wondering how he got sent off for a borderline high tackle, yet a textbook shoulder charge to Escare's face, and McGilvery tackling higher than a cheech and chong film, penalty sufficient), huge penalty in their favour against Leeds and couldn't win. Teams expecting to win trophies expect to demolish sides when they have a huge penalty count in their favour. Hudds have been struggling to even get over the line.

You are wrong on the Escare incident. Wardle when tackling Escare pushes him into Grix. Completely accidental. i guess you were watching at home so would have heard Barrie Mc saying exactly that.

| Quote Leaguefan="Leaguefan"That 1st half was a disgrace to the game.
The fact they get away with their dubious tactics is a credit to them and a sad indictment of the game as currently controlled.

Huddersfield could be accused of having a shockingly conservative approach to playing the game. But as for this nonsense about slowing the PTB down more than any other team, what a load of rubbish.
Every team tries to do it. Wigan have been showcased for it by Phil Clarke on boots and all.
If the question is should the ruck be speeded up then definitely yes. Is the game becoming boring as a result of the ruck being slowed, again yes.
The easy solution is to go down to 4 or 6 substitutions then it simply won't happen.

It might be some mitigation in the disciplinary. But if we aren't sending off shoulder charges which accidentally hit the head, we wont be sending off many, and many who have been sent off will have some valid complaints.

| Anyone want to put me straight on what looked a pretty bad high shot on Escare (?) just before half time? It looked bad in the ground but it got one very brief replay on the big screen and no action taken as play had already restarted. Maybe I'm being one-eyed but it looked every bit as bad as Griffin 's the day before.
