Exciting game for the neutral, quite scrappy, but I guess that goes with the territory.

Ultimately, Wigan had the greatest composure.

Such a contrast from the coaches after the game, Smith was his usual magnanimous self. On the other hand, Wane had the gall to make underhand comments about the refereeing decisions icon_lol.gif .

Cracking game. Wether anyone thinks injury hit Saints are the worst side to make the grand final or not it's still 1st VS 2nd and it's what it should be.

Still the best coach in Superleague by a mile. Every season he's in charge starts with an explanation of how Wigan are going to struggle because x,y,z has left ... and yet... Knows more about RL than everyone on this site combined.

Quote: The Devil's Advocate "I’ve always had a lot of respect for the knowledge of Wigan fans, but after tonight, what a bleating bunch they are.

Constantly squealing that Warrington are lying on, when their own team are the ultimate masters, with O’Loughlin as king, booing the officials off the pitch when the decisions against them were correct.

I was ambivalent as to who won this game, but after listening to the Wigan harpies & watching the likes of Farrell trying to antagonise the opposition, I hope Warrington win it.'"

Isn't that what fans are meant to do? As Cummins said last night refs are influenced by vocal support.

As for booing Bentham off the pitch. Talking to relatives who went. It was difficult to judge off the big screen and they thought it was a knock on and were bemused as to why it was allowed. On that subject when did the rule of coming off the head cease to be a knock on?

Think that tonight was the grand final. Sts winning the hub cap is a low class sideshow. Two best sides in the league on show tonight.

Great game, its how the play offs should be at all times.

Glad thats the end of the current play off format, the only games with the intensity of that tonight usually come at this stage (Wire vs Leeds 2011,Wigan vs Saints 2011 Wigan vs Leeds 2012) when the big guns clash or in the final itself. The other games in these play offs were pant as usual and summed it up really.

Obviously Wigan are big favourites next week but Saints have a chance if they can stand firm in the middle and stay in the game up to the hour mark like Wire did tonight.

No he doesn't.

The extent of his coaching is ''BASH EM, JUST F*CKING BASH EM. HE'S LOW ON CONFIDENCE, BASH HIM''

He's a limited coach that won't last long term.

Oh well, another year of listening to our favourite terrace chant off the likes of Salford, Widnes and Hull despite them being nowhere near a cup for decades.

Having attended a couple of coaching forums hosted by Wane, I can tell you he's highly technical in his analysis and approach and extremely knowledgeable. Combine that with his absolute passion for the game and for Wigan, and the strict ethos he has instilled at the club and it's no wonder he's been highly successful.

But if he suckers idiots into thinking he's not capable, good.

There wasn't (and isn't) a rule that coming off the head [iaccidentally [/iis a knock-on.

The [ideliberate [/iuse of the head is a knock-on (courtesy of Mike Mclennan and Big John Harrison's fun and games back in the nineties).

So the Monaghan try was perfectly legal. Accidentally off the head, play-on, touchdown.

Quote: The Devil's Advocate "Such a contrast from the coaches after the game, Smith was his usual magnanimous self. On the other hand, Wane had the gall to make underhand comments about the refereeing decisions What, one comment?

And he was correct, there were some bizarre decisions, not least the two disallowed tries. Both should have stood, in both cases the receiving player was behind the passer and while the ball travelled forward relative to the ground, it didn't relative to the players. It doesn't help when the passer is stopped dead after passing, but both decisions were wrong. Lockers' pass for the winning try was more forward than either of those.

Apart from that he was highly complimentary of Warrington and took a gentle poke at Yorkshire. But don't let that sour the bitter taste in your mouth.

Great game, Wigan should have been clear by half time but Warrington's defence was outstanding and they almost turned the tide. Defences were on top but that's what wins you the big games. Truly great game. icon_cheers.gif

Why don't you go offer your coaching expertise to Ian Lenegan then?
