True mate but the glory hunters won't come out for a league match.
To be a success we'll need plenty of nuetrsls there and to do that we need to be advertising the event. I work in Manchester and haven't seen a thing yet. If only somebody would let us have over a million pounds worth of promotion for free! We best get speaking to Stobarts to see if they know anyone that daft....

hull fc have sold 1500 more tickets than the next best sales from superleague clubs, i doubt many more will turn up on the day without pre-purchased tickets from any teams

| Manchester is such a dump. I'd rather spend a weekend in Featherstone.

| Last i heard Officially was that Hull FC lead the way in ticket sales with just over 2.5k, which means dismal sales for the league, (these were released about a month ago)
London wont bring many, Catalan wont bring many.
30k each day for me max. Again its good prices for it but the advertisement as been naff.
People say Cardiff and that is to far- but they wont be that many more anyway, the people that go to most away games are the people that will be going to this event with with afew that dont do away games going for a getaway (which means it didnt have to be in the heartlands anyway)
Got to be in the summertime for me for it to work well and get a proper carnival atmosphere around the ground.

A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult”: |
|
| Question, what are the rfl doing about the pitch?
Seeing as like most football grounds the playing pitch is the only part thats actual grass and beyond the goal line its plastic, will the games be played on a featherstone type size or will players [if it rains like today] slog through mud to dive on plastic?????

| Only been to one away match this season (at Cas) but I've bought a ticket for 2 days at the Magic Weekend and I'll watch every minute of every match. Really looking forward to it. It's a bargain and I can't understand why more won't go.

If we Salford take 4k i'll happily streak during our game. We will 1.5k max. And even then im being optimistic.

| I thought the whole point of people crying out for M62 location was because they wanted to see the stadium full.
60k over two days is no more than cardiff. This should be minimum 40,000 each day!
no excuses, the fans need to do better!

| Travelling up with brother from London. If this doesn't fill 40k both days then its a failure big time. This is on the doorsteps of the m62 clubs and if its a failure they might as well not bother with another event.
This should be pretty much a sell out.

| There should be a decent turnout from locals hopefully.
I live in Didsbury in Manchester and there are alot of billboards up advertising the event (at least the last month or two now). There's adverts on the electronic boards on the inner ring road and was on the manchester council website the other day and it was on the homepage.
Even just watching the Manchester derby just seen it on the electronic boards that run alongside the pitch.
Good work RFL

| Smart move from the RFL to advertise the Magic Weekend at the City/United match, an estimated 650 million people are watching!

The RFL making a smart move where promoting the game is concerned is a refreshing change!
