I wished some of them would make a bit more effort. Grand Finals have become a bit like those family weddings and funerals where you only see the same people once a year......

Can't argue with the way Leeds went in the play off's but they did appear at times to be short changing their fans, with some woeful performances during the season.

Presumably much like Warrington and Wigan short changed their fans with some woeful performances in the playoffs?

as its so easy to peak at the right time of the season,i look forward to the next side that wins a gf from 5th or lower
it probably won't happen for a very long time though,unless the rhinos finish 6th,7th or 8th

we were a shambles at times, not just a team or individuals having a poor game but an absolute shambles. no shape, no pattern of play, no structure.
the fact we won is testament to the charachter of the players and, if i'm being honest, the turnaround amazed me

You make it sound like Leeds were deliberately poor for the early part of the season. I don't think there's any question of 'short-changing' here. Leeds didn't perform well for a number of very valid reasons, including a new coaching team, a badly disrupted off-season, loss of key players to injury and a pretty unsettled squad (with many players playing out of position) as a result. Their return to form coincided with the return to form of the previously missing Peacock(in particular) and McGuire, together I think with a growing understanding of individual roles within the team.

Had Leeds had the luxury of a settled team, without as much as a third of their salary cap sat on the bench for much of the season, I'm pretty sure they would have challenged much better in the league ladder.
