That was the official line and may well be true. At the end of the day it's the players responsibility to ensure any substance he takes is legal. If it was a wigan player in the same situation you would of been on these boards in a flash calling for a ban.

Didnt see the game/try but well done to him he has been a great player over the years and it sounds like a perfect way to end his last regular season game at KR, it must be a dream for any player to end their career in the same way!

IMO Cunningham is a player you can't help but respect. The consistency of his performances over the years makes him one of the greatest players of the SL era.

He'll be a hard man to replace

I think keiron may go down as the best hooker ever to play rugby league. It could be argued that he is the best ever forward to play the game

If only the Wigan players would give us the opportunity to give them the benefit of the doubt, rather than knowingly buying drugs at service stations or shoving drugs up their noses in club toilets.

If it's fair to speculate KC knew what he's doing, then I assume you're happy if people speculate as to whether Newton was taking performance enhancing drugs throughout his Wigan career?

I never suggested Cunningham knew what he was doing. He may, he may not. What i said was any sportsman is responsible to ensure what he takes or is given.

As for Newton speculate all you want i'm sure a few will bite.

If you research the case you will find there was mitigating circumstances which turned into an embarrassment to the RFL on their drug prevention procedures.

THe UK sport governing body were also very critical of the RFL of there working practices and tranparency of there drug prevention testing procedure.
Mike Sutherland was employed by the RFL during the international series and seconded to St Helens RLFC, the rugby league club of St Helens was not in a position to question the medical qualification of Mr Mike Sutherland as he was an employee of the RFL.
It was in Australia by the Australian Rugby League Body during the test series that Mr Mike Sutherland was raising suspicions as he was not on there global medical database.

As a result of this case, the RFL's new procedures and practices have been adopted and have become a role sporting model in the prevention of drugs in sport.
