Quote: Wire Yed "The 'football fans' stuff irritates me too, these were rugby fans, they had widnes tops on.

I'm just glad it was Castleford and that the Cas players were telling their own fabs to stay put.

If this had been FC fans it could have been a full scale pitch battle.'"

Well it wasn't Hull fans so you can keep your insidious remarks to yourself. Don't try points scoring off us just because your team couldn't against Leeds.

Quote: brearley84 "from the youtube video prob about 3 widnes shirts, rest had coats on or just no top on at all ! bet they have been to about 1 game this season between them

seems to be a good response from the club, sure they will find them and ban them'"

Just because they wasn't wearing Widnes shirts does not mean they weren't supporters. I and the people I attend Salford games with never have worn replica shirts, doesn't mean I'm not a regular supporter.

This thing about not wearing shirts so they can't be a Widnes fan is rubbish I haven't worn anything rugby related for about the last 15 years when I attend games home and away

Quote: nottinghamtiger "From where I was stood it looked like one of the stewards slipped and collapsed and advertising hoarding, felling the Cas supporter who practically fell onto the pitch. A number of Widnes hooligans who were inciting violence approached him and he threw a couple of punches before been assisted by the stewards back into the stand. Hardly the same as deliberately entering the pitch, walking the full length of the field, attacking the mascot and goading thousands of opposition fans with the traditional hooligan "arms outstretched" challenge to try and provoke a riot.'"

Unfortunately a youtube video shows one Castleford fan climbing over the barrier after the mascot has had his head kicked and laying into one of the topless cretins. A steward and one of the Cas players then bundles him back over the hoarding into the stand out of the way. It's a shame but that's just one person out of perhaps 2500-3000 in the Castleford stand who responded to the goading which I think shows incredible restraint from the Cas fans.

Although that mascot (who had his head removed) did seem to slip, the very same person in the Liverpool shirt tries to knock over the other Castleford mascot...I wouldn't call this just a tap (watch at the 2 minute mark)......

Fair enough, I haven't seen all the videos, it was just how it looked to me at the game watching from the side, it might be a completely different person altogether as the bloke I was watching was trying to get back to the stand and there were no players nearby.

I know what you mean, at the time I didn't think anyone had gone on the pitch from the Cas end....likewise I didn't realise that Liverpool idiot gave the other mascot a big shove from behind....that's the benefit of all this footage I guess.

What a sad indictment on our game.
Neanderthals carrying on like ADHD kids.
Maybe if Jenny Craig was the Ref it could have been sorted out and those fat s with no shirts could have been signed up before they caused trouble,

On a serious note, you wonder why this game struggles?
Its run by amateurs, supported in some cases by troublemakers and idiots.

From what I see on this forum there would only be a few grounds I would feel comfortable taking my Family too where I hope we would not either be barraged by full on foul language or have to fight if we did not accept it.

After watching some of the videos, the ginger-haired bloke in the red shirt, black jacket with a draw string bag is the one who should be seriously worried about a criminal record.
Although the chances are he already has one, I'm sure he hasn't just decided to behave like a violent thug just for a day.

To be honest you'd be suprised.

Some of these cats could be normal respectable people, who had too much to drink and got carried away with abit of gang mentality.

I think the shirt he's wearing is a Widnes away shirt, not a Liverpool one.

Sorry, not familiar with the Widnes away shirt and assumed it was a Liverpool one.

I was not however implying they are all football fans causing trouble before we get started on that route again, I merely thought it was a Liverpool shirt.
