Don't be pathetic, Widnes didn't fold, they went into administration, and Bradford Northern rejoined a large 30 team league when they reapplied. Neither is even remotely the same as putting a team straight into SL, especially when unlike Bradford or Widnes they have no history of anything but almost the most miserable failure imaginable and with no fanbase. If they want to have a successful French Elite team then it might be worth considering, otherwise we may as well burn millions of RL money and play a team short in preparation for them folding almost immediately.

If we base things on your stupid potential argument we should shut down every NRL team apart from one in Sydney, Melbourne and at an absolute stretch Brisbane and replace them all with Chinese, Japanese and Indian teams. They're still pure rubbish on the field and unless they make an effort they shouldn't be rewarded with a SL spot, SL is not an anti-British pro-French charity, it is a business and a sporting competition. When they can justify their place then I'm sure they will make a good addition, but there should be no racist exemptions, if they can't reach a grand final or win the NRC then tough their application should go straight in the bin.
