| Quote: dally messenger "why use percentages, thats not what i asked. i asked number of clubs?'"
Oh dear. Can't handle the maths? Percentages tells a more relevant story than using just numbers. You see, if i earn £2m and give £1m away to disadvantaged Australians - i would have given 50% of my earnings. Quite generous no? You earn £8m and give £1m to needy unwashed northerners in the UK. Now, it would appear that you've given the same money as me. Strictly speaking you have - but i'm technically more generous because you've only given away 12.5% of your earnings. Geddit?
Of course you do - you're not stupid.

| Quote: dally messenger "your heartlands are places like wigan, saints. none of the area around manchester, heck all the RL clubs there average under 10,000!
Leeds is as much soccer as RL.
adding up all those small places where RL is stronger would it even be 1 million?'"
None of the area round manchester so oldham, salford, rochdale and swinton dont count to fit your logic?
And you werent talking about average crowds your were talking about th population or do we ignore that to suit your argument?
Leeds isnt a heartland area then?
as i've just said west yorkshire alone has over 2 million and with leeds, bradford, castleford, huddersfiled, wakefield, featherstone, hunslet, keighley, dewsbury, batley and halifax all playing in the county i think we can safely say that is a heartland area.

as i said add up all the crowds for the RL clubs around manchester and it isnt 10,000. compare that to all the soccer clubs there.
in sydney its all RL as the dominant code, we dont share it with soccer.
you share much of yours with soccer and live with basically the scraps.

so we have changed it from population to average crowds just so we can suit your argument?

| Quote: dally messenger "widnes and bradford failed too.
on your stupid logic they shouldnt have been tried again'"
Don't be pathetic, Widnes didn't fold, they went into administration, and Bradford Northern rejoined a large 30 team league when they reapplied. Neither is even remotely the same as putting a team straight into SL, especially when unlike Bradford or Widnes they have no history of anything but almost the most miserable failure imaginable and with no fanbase. If they want to have a successful French Elite team then it might be worth considering, otherwise we may as well burn millions of RL money and play a team short in preparation for them folding almost immediately.
If we base things on your stupid potential argument we should shut down every NRL team apart from one in Sydney, Melbourne and at an absolute stretch Brisbane and replace them all with Chinese, Japanese and Indian teams. That's the level of your logic, all that matters is how good a team actually is, potential is an excuse for a bad team
Quote: dally messenger "
toulose had one of the highest crowd averages in NL1, with a crap team on the field and their first year of operation there. brilliant effort really.'"
They're still pure rubbish on the field and unless they make an effort they shouldn't be rewarded with a SL spot, SL is not an anti-British pro-French charity, it is a business and a sporting competition. When they can justify their place then I'm sure they will make a good addition, but there should be no racist exemptions, if they can't reach a grand final or win the NRC then tough their application should go straight in the bin.

What's amusing is you want to destroy SL by replacing teams people watch with far worse teams that noone would watch and yet apply completely different standards to the NRL, where the expansion teams have more chance of working.
There is not a shred of evidence that there's RL interest in Paris to support a SL team and lots of evidence it couldn't.
Toulouse might work one day, but they are clearly making no effort.
Can you please explain why a team making no effort to meet SL criteria and right near the bottom of the Championship (and that with exemptions from the overseas quota) should be let into SL? Remember them being French is not an argument, nor is their cities population as SL isn't a charity
