Yeah - I just meant it wasn't rocket science to do it.
As I say, I don't see the main problem as a tech one anyway, it's the admin updates letting the system down.

Ticketmaster have invested millions worldwide to get the system to the state it is in now, the system the RFL's partner uses had to cobble together various ticket systems across the venues to give a consistent interface knowing that it may never be used again.
At lease compare apples with apples.

| Tickets have been on sale for over a year, considering ticket sales didn't really take off until after the grand final (as predicted by everyone but Gutterfax) can you imagine how much negativity there would have been if the likes of 'Billy' Eve could have gone online and counted the yet to be sold tickets?
Surely if someone is serious about going and was having problems with the online system they would just ring the ticket hotline. That is what I did two years ago for the Four Nations final.

| Quote: Big Graeme "Its not the RFL's system, it it is a third party offering cobbling together the booking systems at all the stadia used, having some experience in this area what they have done is pretty damn good.'"
I said "using" i didn't say they built it. It is shoddy and dated. I really don't know what experience you have in this area but this is certainly not good. All this takes is a simple conditional statement based on a calculation of seats sold in that area.
IF 'seatssold' = 100% "soldout.png"
ELSEIF 'seatssold' < 100% AND >75% = "limited.png"
ELSE 'seatssold' < 75% = "available.png"
this would build a nice dynamic map of the seating areas and as the database gets updated minute by minute the seat map would also, this is simple programming basics and not rocket science, like i said, the system they have used is very 1990.

to a point you are correct but you would be amazed looking at site stats of people that leave a site when they can't do something and no record of them booking via the phone. You need the systems in place to capture those people, no room for error, the site is poor and has been down numerous times, latest issue is the amateurish site map showing SOLDOUT that comes from a 1990s web site.

Sorry, I will clarify, they are not using Tickemaster as a front end.

IF 'seatssold'
Yup very simple, if that was how they want the tickets sold.
The RFL may want a few more blocks open at 60-70% occupancy rather than a few less but every ticket sold.
RFL ticket policy used to be that if a seat had in any way a limited view of the whole field of play they either didn't sell it or if there was a huge demand for tickets they would be sold last.

IF 'seatssold'
I quite agree.
But we have what we have: a system that requires manual updates of the display. My problem is that whoever is administering the system can't even be d to do the manual updates once a day. Expecting potential customers to click on a section marked as 'not for sale' is simply inexcusable. As is hiding prime seats behind a 'sold out' sign.

Should this have been on display weeks rather than days before the event?

My ticket for the final has been moved now the camera positions have been finalised. Made me feel very positive about the whole thing from a customer service point of view.
