Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?: |
|
| Quote: vastman "Wakefield sign Huby from Hudds. I'm not surprised many are picking Wakey to finish bottom as it seems to ne the default setting for the lazy or moronic on here. However Wakefieds pack is shaping up to be one of the biggest and aggressive in SL espeicially if Allgood does sign as constant rumours suggest. Added to that probably one of the best signing from he NRL in Scrum Half Sam Williams has gone virtually unnoticed which tbh honest I'm fine with - should have a field day behind that pack.
Because most of you won't have bothered to check
David Fifita 6' 4" - 18 1/2 stone
Anthony England 6' 4" - 17 1/2 stone
Keegan Hirst 6' 4" - 18 stone
Craig Huby 6' 2" - 17 stone
Anthony Walker 6' - 16 1/2 stone
Danny Kirmond 6' 1"- 16 1/2 stone
Johnny Molloy 6' 2" - 16 1/2 stone
Tinirau Arona 5' 1" - 16 1/2 stone
Matty Ashurst 6' 2" - 16 1/2 stone
if he signs...
Mitch Allgood 6' 4" - 171/2 stone
Size isn't everything but I just thought I'd mention it. Unless we implode that pack should see us safely off the bottom 2-3 places I'd of hoped.'"
Arona 5' 1" and 16.5 stone!!!
Run, fat boy, run

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| Although I haven't measured the height of Allgood I have stood next to him for a photo with my child and he's smaller than me and I'm 6.3 and yes you will be underwhelmed by him I don't think you need him to be honest as you seem to have a very good pack

Think there's only one set of fans on here with a victim complex and it's not the hull team who play in black.

Middle 8s will be very interesting especially as recruitment has improved.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "There are some big units in there for sure, but as you say size isn't everything.
Fifita looked a real handful last season. England and Huby are good solid front rowers. A couple of steps below top class, but good players. I really hope Keegan Hirst goes well, but this is his first time at the top table. It's a workmanlike back row with good size and mobility, but it lacks line breakers for me. Allgood is mediocre at best.
I genuinely mean it when I say there isn't a bad team in the competition, but I just can't make a better case for anyone else to finish bottom. If Brown leaves Widnes however then I might just retract that statement.'"
So the team that finishes 8th, keeps all it's best players and recruits well and you can't make a better case for anyone else including a newly promoted team - bizzare.

When Chris Chester came in you hit a good run of form and rode it pretty much all the way to the 8's. You won 1/7 before his appointment, and once you got a few injuries and your form hit the buffers you managed 2/15, including losing every Super 8's game. Of course it doesn't matter when the points come, and you deserved your place in the top 8, but you are very unlikely to go on another run like that, so can you play at a more consistent standard and keep the points ticking over throughout the season? I'm not sure.
Looking at your squad. In Jowitt and Johnstone you have two very exciting prospects. Miller blows hot and cold but seems to be improving all the time. Your pack I've already spoken about (solid but unspectacular). MCB should be a good signing, as should Sam Williams. I don't know enough about the youngsters to make a proper comment if I'm honest. The rest just look like filler.
I don't think you are too far off the likes of Widnes, Huddersfield, Leigh and maybe if they have a poor season Catalans and Salford, so if the stars align you could plausibly make the top 8 again, but I just think all those have slightly more going for them squad wise.

That's the key thing for me with Wakefield. Was that form that got them up the table just one of those honeymoon periods for a new coach.

That's probably a better way of putting, but that's exactly what I'm getting at. That's the big question.

Not sure how you can say Wakey 'deserved their place in the top 8' when, they were only there by default...

Your reply to my claiming you would be underwhelmed with Allgood suggests otherwise.

Just interested in your opinion of us, how many points deduction have you got us down for ? because that squad would have finished seventh last year and we've only lost caton-brown and of co our usual one a season to Hull in Griffin.
