You surely can't fail to understand what I put. How the hell is it a knock on when Eastmond never lets go of it? There has to be a gap between Eastmond's hand and the ball for it to be a knock on when it touches Donald. I could use the same 2@y line you did about me being wrong but I won't.



I'd say almost every single person (Bar you) in the ground thought Smith's wasn't a try. The Leeds fans sat down en mass, the Saints fans cheered and everyone gasped when 'TRY' showed up.

Care to point out where in the laws of the game the position in relation to the ball is relevant ? The laws state that you must be behind the kicker, not the ball.

Smith's 2nd try was clearly offside and it was a really poor decision IMO.



Sky even showed it by mapping the position of the players with a line drawn down the screen. Mcguire's position circle was behind the line, whilst Smith's was on the line.



It was clear to see from the replay that Smith was ahead of the ball as it touched Mcguire's boot....well clear to all but Bentham any way.



It was a shame really as it was a great contest up until that point and was looking like a really tense finish with just a point in it. Sadly though that incorrect decision also decided the game.



The offside decision was one which was clearly evident (again to all but Bentham) from the video evidence available and no benefit of the doubt was required. Eastmond's try was not as you couldn't tell if the ball was touched and knocked on before being reclaimed or not. In that instance, benefit of the doubt should be given to the attacking player as the evidence just isn't there to deny the try.

Eastmond was in the process of claiming the ball, not losing the ball. In other words, he was never in possession of the ball to lose it. I don't see how it could possibly be a knock-on, in terms of two players trying to claim a loose ball without it hitting the ground from either player.

That and the two drop goals.

Sport doesn't work like that.



Leeds were 1 point ahead at the time of the decision, the try made it 7 points and effectively meant it was game over. During the next few minutes the second DG was added.



It completely changed the game and the way Saints had to try and play. If the try had been chalked off Saints could have got near enough to at least put over a drop of their own.

And lost by a point.

I don't think the Ozzies will be 'quaking in their boots' after watching that game.

At the end of the day, it's all if's and but's as to what would have happened had it not been given.



Smith was offside and it was a very poor VR decision but it's done now and Leeds are the champions.

Perhaps? But as we'd have been a point down with 10 to play there could have been a change in the outcome. The second drop goal may not have happened had the stupid decision not been given.

I stupidly trusted my mates from dire to buy the tickets for us all for the GF and got stuck in the the east stand surrounded by thousands of rabid leeds fans. One in front of me who seemed to think that saints fans were pie eaters???



anyway, there were quite a few cas fans with leeds scarfs and hats on singing yarkshire, yarkshire. I thought you lot hated leeds?

Great game, great seats, heavy handed stewards.



Sam burgess manged incur the wrath of the stewards, never noticed if he actually got removed from the ground, but he was well hammered.

Alot of people seemed to get chucked out of the ground. An on-going problem on GF night.

and if he was causing trouble then rightly so!

Good game, don't agree with the VR decision for the last try but I think the better team won.

One moronic Dewsbury fan near us seemed more interested in trying to cause a ruckus rather than watching the game itself. Starting having a go at people around him, then the stewards.



Needless to say, I never seen him after that. Hopefully he got what was coming to him.



A few Saints fans near me were bickering amongst themselves aswell, because one bloke took offence at another bloke constantly standing up all the time a few rows down and blocking his view.



The bloke in front of me started to stand and say something but I told him not to get involved. Not worth the hassle.

That seems to be the problem half the time, people can't just ignore things but feel they have to get involved. There was an incident a few blocks down from us where some Leeds and Saints fans ended up fighting (and about half a dozen ejected) but people further back in the block saw it happening and started singing anti leeds chants which aint exactly going to help the situation!
