| Went to Wigan's preseason game at Salford 2 years ago and it took about 45 minutes to get off the official car park (there were about 2,000 there IIRC). I've parked on Eccles RL car park for the SL games since with no problems. Though it is a bit of a joke the same problems are an issue when they're about to enter their 3rd season in there. I think this holding cars back to let pedestrians leave is an unnecessary policy, Hudds do it as well and that can be a pig to get away from.

i know emails and complaints were sent to salford and they said they were looking into improving this aspect of match day experience.'"
Just to clarify, the stadium isn't owned (yet) by Salford - it is the stadium operating company, under the control of Peel Holdings and Salford City Council, where complaints should be addressed. I'm sure that if Dr. Koukash manages to buy a stake in the stadium he will shake them up a bit, starting with the ticketing issues. Meanwhile keep the complaints coming.

[quote="Gotcha":y7izhg01]Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]: |

| Quote: Chester J Lampwick "Whilst it's true that since Koukash has arrived Salford have done more to ease pre-purchase by scrapping booking fees and allowing print at home, it really wouldn't be rocket science to have cash turnstiles and the refusal of the stadium company to allow it cannot be defended. As much as Salford RL plead for it, the stadium co seem to trot out an excuse about not having the insurance to take cash on turnstile. The solution therefore is to get the insurance - everyone else has managed to do it - it's blatant penny pinching on premiums.'"
I agree it does seem odd, but I don’t think a cash turnstile is necessary to be honest. Obviously it would a little more convenient rather than purchasing a ticket first, but from my experience cash turnstiles aren’t the quickest due to the handling of money. At least with tickets only, it’s just a case of swiping the ticket and you’re through (they’re even slow as this so imagine them having to work out/hand out change etc – nightmare scenario).
Quote: Chester J Lampwick "Funny that, the news article says that crowds have dropped from 8000 to 6000 since moving, now who to believe
The official Sale website should back up my 4,800 average attendance statement
As I said, televised games permitting the vast majority of our home games are played on Friday nights.
Quote: Chester J Lampwick "So all sale fans live on the same street and come exactly the same way then
No but the majority appear (judging by the complaints on their messageboard) to live in South Manchester/Cheshire, therefore travelling from Didsbury, Sale, Cheadle, Altrincham, Wilmslow etc meaning there is on route of entry and one exit.
Quote: Chester J Lampwick " So you know exactly how thing happen in the future, have you got a DeLorean or a TARDIS, can you get me next weeks lottery numbers and the winner of the 3.20 at Southwell?
Unfortunately not but as I frequent the area quite a bit on Sunday’s I know traffic is generally at a minimum.

| It took me 45 minutes to get out of the Wigan car park a few years back. Didn't really bother me or the other 20000 people there for an RL match that night.

| The 3:20 at Southall was won by a Marwan Koucash owned horse probably
.
I find it strange how fans are bagging the RFL over not promoting the game enough but the same fans never miss an opportunity to moan and talk the sport down.
You know the I won't go to Salford because of the car parking or I'm not going to Wakefield because it's not safe or don't go to Hull the locals might frighten the kids or I'm not giving any money to the bulls because they have been badly run same excuse for London and don't get me started on I'm not going to Saints/Leeds because they have no carpark and the 45 minute wait I had at the DW means I ain't going there again or Wire or Widnes for that matter it's too near the river and in these times of biblical flooding it's not worth the risk.
To all the club's I've named I will make at least two visits this year and hope I can find a St Christopher to protect me!
Just get a grip people you're starting to sound like a bunch of softties

| I would not think that Sale moving out would help Salford at all.
When it comes to any renegotiation for Salford in however many years, if they are not sharing with someone else, then the full costs of the stadium will be on one tenant rather than 2.
Unless Koukash buys the whole lot.
As for having a cash turnstile. Whilst it maybe simple to print a ticket etc
There is a motto in business. The customer is always right.
If a customer wants to buy on the day from a turnstile with cash then it's the companies job to meet that demand.
I would only suggest not doing it if the cost to satisfy these customers was not profitable.
I doubt a cash turnstile is a huge demand issue.
As for Sale, being on the move has not proven successful for London, do they really see Bolton as a feasible move??? I mean seriously how many Sale fans live in Bolton? They may as well go the whole hog and move to Wigan.

| Did make me chuckle seeing this, union with all their money seem to have as big an issue chipping into the north as we so the south.
Sale moving to their third ground in 4 years.
Sound familiar?
On the ground issue, when I went to the WC we
Got out pretty quickly. Last season it took me longer to get home from headingly than it did Widnes.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Logically ( never happen of course ) if the 2 Mr ' K ' s could agree a deal to purchase the stadium together , it could become very viable and profitable for both, in fact given its location in the premier football City in Europe ,it is probably the only way these 2 clubs can ever be truly successful and build strong susstainable clubs

| Quote: John Gilbert Reds "No there isnt. Sale are only averaging crowds of 4,800 this season.'"
Sale's average this season so far is 36,698 from 6 games = 6,116
Sale's average in 2012-13 was 80,201 from 11 games = 7,291
Salford's average in 2013 was 40,622 from 13 games = 3,125
The point made earlier that there are at least twice as many spectators at a Sale game than at a Salford game, therefore there would be twice as much congestion would appear to be based on facts.

| Maybe I am mistaken but I was under the impression, from lots of posts on these forums and other media, that when the new stadium was built the crowds would increase significantly from those at the Willows.
This had nothing to do with how good/bad the team was it was stated as it was going to happen as a matter of course.
That seems to have been disproved.
I don't know the Manchester/Salford area all that well but looking a certain site which shows overhead piccies of areas there doesn't seem to be a great deal of housing in the local vicinity.
Therefore the assumption is then, as the ground was being planned, they new there were good public transport links, good access and parking for all those who drove, and easy walk up facilities for the few locals. This did happen didn't it?
