Richards probably had to kick it futher than Lydon and from a much harder angle with less time to control himself and do it. Both great drop goals though

Mark McLinden kicked a similar one, on the stroke of half time, against Wigan for Harlequins. He claims he just booted it because he thought it was half time, Quins has a decent lead at the time, but Wigan fought back in the second half and the drop goal was the difference at the end.

That's why I prefer it to Benji's effort. Although ridiculously good, Benji's effort was specifically set up from a DG, Richards' was sheer ingenuity and speed of thought.
