If we beat aus and NZ in the same series and then win the final I am pretty sure the atmosphere will be rocking.

Let's roll out the Delia Effect -"let's be 'avin' you" and all that. Who's our Delia? How about Kath Hetherington - butt naked? Can you imagine the atmosphere after a rousing rendition from Kath?

As mentioned, the 2009 final was a great atmosphere (at least early on) and it was pretty good at Wigan (and a lesser extent Huddersfield) in the same competition, though it helped that there were a couple of large groups at the back of the North Stand and close to the band that perked it up a bit.

Agree with the original post that one of the disappointing aspects of international RL is the lack of atmosphere. All it takes is the RFL to set aside an area as a 'singing section' or, to take things a little further, form an England Supporters Club (as suggested on here previously) to build up more of a community and encourage them to sit in the same section and get the atmosphere going.

The generic songs mentioned previously are easy enough to catch on but again it comes down to having a section that actually starts the chants, which ties in with the above point.

That said, I won't be attending any of the games this year but the above experiences are based on the last 10+ years of going to all of the England/GB games.

Ban club shirts...

forget the club colours until after the 4 nations...
Get some songs and drums playing together.
Not cheer for other clubs players to fail..
make an english fans group (like the briganets)...
get some good entertainment over the PA...

Play internationals at Wheldon Road.

Or: organise a mass group of all those that want to sing to sit/stand together.

Don't forget the national anthem

Nothing wrong with club colours - one of the good things about the England football games are seeing the different flags from virtually every club in the land.

One of the best atmospheres at any RL game I have been to at Elland Road in 2009. Never known RL supporters to celebrate as much as when Sam Burgess scored the opening try, people falling over all over the place

For a start the RLIF needs to get together and commission RL's answer to 'The World In Union'.

All international governing bodies (That can afford to) should put money in a big pot. All international game marketing should be commissioned by the RLIF.

Once the promotion is correct and fans have been attracted to the game cut ticket prices (or have more double headers) and perhaps do 'England Shirt and a Final Ticket' offers (get the shirt now and be sent the ticket closer to the date of the game).

This should eventually create a Critical Mass and demand would be higher for tickets in the future, prices can go up... more money can be spent on marketing and improving the game abroad as well as at home.

That would mean more teams, more excitement and a huge atmosphere at the grounds.

Location of the games will always have an effect, so play the games that struggle to gain attendance and the finals in the middle of the heartlands. Simi-finals and other large internationals should be played just outside the heartlands or in London (due to large foreign born population)
