| Morley doesn't seem to be struggling when I see him.
I must say though, I was mighty impressed with Carvell on friday. For me, he has failed to live up to his billing since signed from Hull, but looks to really be in the right gear. The guy is massive and if he's on form, has the physical atributes to bother even the Aussies.
Eorl, to his credit, has shown up well at international level when I doubted his inclusion. I remember a game against the Kiwis when they didn't really know what to do with him.

Do we really want this guy in the four nations? No question, Peacock has always given his all for England, but if we are really serious about beating OZ/NZ, then we have to have a ruthless streak and get rid of the dead wood, which Peacock seriously is.
But i've no doubt Peacock will be leading England out against OZ and we will get murdered. Show some leadership Macca and drop him because he will be destroyed in th 4N.

Ridiculous post, he's still in the top 5 best props in SL.

| I'm actually baffled....I've read this thread and actually agree with Phipps on his two posts...think I need to check into a hospital or something!!
Peacock on present form shouldn't be near the England team, I'd have him as a squad player to pass of experience and offer advice at present...but no way would I play him in his current form. I'd review that opinion if he improves drastically over the remainer for the season...at the way Leeds are going, they might not even be in the play offs! Jokes (before I get any Rhinos fans flustered with a comment like that!)
Crabtree should terrorise teams...he has the same physical attributes as Petro Civenoseva (massive spelling error probably I know - just can't be ar8ed to google the correct spelling). Yet I've watched Crabtree this year and have struggled to see how he is getting bullied in each tackle. Against Warrington (who admittedly have a rather fierce defence) he made no metres from the point of impact to him being put in his back. Not really feeling him for England in the 4n's either.
My pick (and see how this thread has gone off topic already) would be Sam Burgess (if he can't recover and get some game time), Carvell (absolutely the form Prop in SL right now), Graham (even though I still think he has more to offer than he is showing this season - which is a big statement considering as he is still playing very well - moving to the NRL will improve him greatly).....then I guess it would be a pick of a bunch. There lays the problem, we go on about how we have the advantage in the pack against the Aussies...but we never actually do. Their front row over the last couple of years has matched and in fact beaten ours. Players like Scott, Hannant and Petro would walk into our team...easily.
We need bigger props that attract 3 defenders and yet still drive us 5 more metres forward...until we open our eyes and accept that we don't have a better pack than the other nations and actually do something as a nation to sort it out, we'll lose.
Peacock will get picked for England...not because he deserves it...but because our World class options are so thin he is one of the best we really have - even in this form!

| Even if he's slightly over the hill, I'd still take have him in the squad for the internationals at the end of the season - purely for his terrific leadership qualities and the experience he can pass on to the younger players in the squad.

Interesting. From a saints POV, I'd suggest Puletua has had a better season so far than Peacock, I've also heard big things coming from Hull about O'Meley.
Its only a case of opinions, but I don't feel like I've seen alot of/from Peacock this year.

| he's still to get back to proper match fitness. Don't know how anyone can call Peacock, he's been 100% for both Bradford and Leeds and he pasted Mason. Just wish Wigan could have signed him alongside Fielden. Now though, we've got Mossop, who is going to be imho, an all time great.

I have to say, I am trying to see what everybody else does in Mossop, I would love another English prop on the scene that can mix it at international level but I haven’t seen anything so far that says he will be a great. In fact, every time I have seen Wigan this year, Coley has been the best Warriors prop
As for Peacock, his form is poor at the moment and he was dominated at the weekend which is very unlike Peacock. I am not ruling him out of returning back to his past form as he has been superb for Bradford, Leeds and England/GB over the years
Come the 4 Nations, I hope one of two things happens, either Peacock is fit and firing or McNamara has the guts to drop him – the worst thing of course would be to see peacock selected and play poorly – as well as being bad news for England it would be a terrible shame for Peacock to lose a well earned international reputation

yu would be wrong over carvell, he was very very good in 09 when he signed, him and morley were influential in sending us to the CC final, he was a bit ropey last year after breaking his ankle but he's been an absolute machine this year, before and after him getting his new contract.

Mossop doesn't do anything flash, but does most things very well. He doesn't have the phyiscal presence of Coley, yet makes more metres and has a phenomenal leg drive.
Also gets through a shed load of work in defence which people often overlook - 539 tackles made, and only 17 missed.
One of the best things about the season for me thus far has been Mossop's consitently good performances, considering this is his first year as a Prop, I'm mightily impressed with him.
