They are the supports for the floodlights.

There are 2 on the new build. One at the NE and one at the NW corners.
They are instead of normal Floodlight pylons and IIRC on contains a biomass burner.

£20 to stand for away fans with no cover is a disgrace to the sport quite frankly, even worse when you consider they are one of the 'big' clubs..
I think the dobbins should give away fans a heavy discount in the first season given the shower of poop the golf stand was'"
Sorry old lad but you can stand (or sit) where you like at Headingley and there's plenty of cover under the clock end.
Apart from that, whats wrong with standing anyway ?
Seating is usually uncomfortable and cramped unless you have unusually short legs.

It will be the south stand but more than welcome any where else in the stadium. If you want to sit you can in the West Stand.

I like sitting under cover, i did my fair share of standing as a yoof/young adult and don't want to now. During the winter months and when it's peeing it down with rain being out of cover and/or standing isn't fantastic and I don't think it represents good value either to be charged loads for pee poor comfort.
The only seats I've ever had problems with where the ones in the gods at old trafford way back when, the ones at the KC are more than adequate and plenty of leg space.

Whatever you do, dont go to the away end (its like Odsal, but you're at pitch level.
There is some terracing below the main stand, which is a far better view.
The "away" end, which is at the opposite end to the new stand is truly poor, dont do it.
