| Tell you what, as bad as the final was, it certainly
Wasnt worse than the football tonight. All the bulild up all day for the game of the season between Chelsea and Man U, and it was the most boring spectacle I've had to watch all year.
When RL players start "playing" for a draw that's when we know things have gone bad.

I'd watch "awful" games like saturdays everytime over what I've just witnessed at old trafford.

Agreed and you can often see those sorts of games in football. I can rarely sit through 90 minutes of a football game these days without getting bored. While you do get the odd dud of a game in League, they're a much more of a rare occurrence. As a neutral, it was just unfortunate that we got one in the final!

| Pretty much every FA Cup final in the past 10-20 years has been far worse than this years game - strangely enough this years FA cup final was the exception.
Why do some individuals get so focused on the negatives of our game?
Some people would moan the the challenge cup is too shiny!

Because it wasn’t a comparison of League v Wendyball, or any other sport for that matter.
The whole concept of the thread was if it was the worst C.C final ever.
Without watching numerous finals I couldn’t call it, however, it was very poor.

Are you from Wigan?
This years FA Cup Final was just as dreadful as most FA Cup Finals have been. The only redeeming feature of this years final was that a relegated team got a late winner against a billion pound team. If Man City had been the side getting the late goal then the final would have been as bad as the CC final.

This years Challenge Cup final was a terrible final. Most Challenge Cup finals are actually good.

| Were on the ticket for any game is it printed that you will get to see the greatest match of all time? the game was awfull so what? that is what you get in sport uncertain results & performance. The media, the RFL,fans on here have hyped up the game going on & on about 1985 & all that. I have seen two awfull games this year both against Wigan on our own ground not happy but again that is sport. If you want certainty & can't take supprises or disapointments watch Thomas the tank engine, sport is obviously not for you.

Not sure about that - things can get pretty hairy whenever Henry is involved; he's a loose cannon.
I'm not quite sure why the quality of this game has signalled the RL apocalypse; Wigan came with a very pedestrian game plan that was suited to the conditions; Hull defended for their lives but choked with the ball in hand. It made for a pretty uninspiring spectacle for the neutral, but hardly the death knell of the sport.
The only people with a legitimate grievance I would suggest, are those Hull fans who spunked a few hundred quid on a weekend in London; shame, but you pays your money and all that.

| Anyone who isn't prepared to adopt an insecure siege mentality by citing the crapness of last night's Man Utd V Chelsea game on a thread about the crapness of the CC Final must really hate the game of RL.

| In hindsight, perhaps not the worst final I've seen but I certainly think Hull's handling errors outnumbered anything I'd seen previously in a final. And I suspect for many, handling is the main aspect of our game in which we take pride. Think of all the anti-union posts which have, over the years, attacked the other code over their poor skills with ball in hand. Hardly surprising then that when it goes badly wrong, as it did for one team on Saturday, that many observers are none too impressed.
