As for this years shirts, the Heritage is OK, but the 2 training shirts (fire and ice) and the U20's are potentially the worst RL gear I have seen in years.....home and away will remain as 2012.'"
I've heard supporters replicas will have the NRL corporate logo on whilst players jersey will have the modified 'Premiership' logo. Hmmmm

| What I like about the NRL kits is the longevity of thier sponsors. You automatically think of NZ Warriors with vodafone, jet with the titans and steggles with the Roosters, and the ability to attract big name sponsors.
I Really think that Super League should turn the Magic weekend into a heritage weekend, and celebrate the sports long history and the clubs could bring out a sponsorless (or limited sponsors) classic shirt. I know I and thousands of oher supporters would buy into it. Im sure if the Super League were to talk with a firm like ISC they could say "5k of 14 teams shirts at £25-30 a pop" this would be good business all round.

If it was good business all round, they'd be doing it.
Sponsorless shirts would decrease the value of current sponsorship for clubs.
Cheaper heritage shirts would decrease the value of the proper shirts.
Would be poor business all round.

Its a nice idea he had but it wouldn't work. There is no way on earth the club sponsors would go for it.

Why? Rovers sold hundreds of sponsorless shirts in 2009/2010

Nope.....he indulged in "back of a beermat" marketing scenarios. It was an idea, which is IMO professional opinion, majorly flawed.
The NRL is not Superleague.......soccer clubs in the UK don't do it, neither do rah rahs.........why must we also copy the ockers?
