The problem with cup games, and play off games, are that if you lose, it's money not wasted, and if you win, you can always see them in the next round. Semi-finals are different, because you are playing for the prize of the final and all the excitement that brings. The earlier rounds are just a chance to have a chance to have a chance.

Which brings us back to the point that Huddersfields low cup crowd is simply symptomatic of the problem ALL clubs have in getting bums on seats for cup games.

We did offer £50 tickets behind the goals for the first 500 or something, i actually only 1 person who took up that offer so wasn't exactly a freely available deal which some people seem to think.

are you actually stupid? does it not occur to you that 5 years ago Hudds would barely get half of that number for this fixture? They have made massive strides on and off the pitch, why do people forget that?

Even Hull managed 11,500 against the Pies with half of the side missing, no halfbacks, our youth team coach on the bench, and no realistic chance of winning the game. If we were in the sort of position Hudds are in at the moment, with a near full strength side out, that would easily have been 15,000. So whilst 10k isn't a bad gate per se, it's hardly worth breaking your arms to pat yourselves on the back about, either.
