[quote="Rogues Gallery":xjc47q2r]Wire - the enigma. They could finish top or eighth, who knows.[/quote:xjc47q2r]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7749.jpg |

| Quote: Saddened! "Instead of the Magic Weekend for one, we could have the Super League Rumble. All 14 teams on the pitch at the same time, two ends to score at, one ball. Anyone tackled has to leave the field, as done anyone committing a knock on or giving a penalty away. Russell Crowe as guest referee.'"
The best idea I have ever heard!

| It's a great start for them and well done to them for the achievement.
I assume, like many new ventures, they have had an element of giving away a lot of free tickets and I'm not knocking them for that.
The only potential downside is that they have a 'sell out' but a half empty stadium if the freebies don't turn up.
Lets hope they do turn up, that they like what they see and that they will be back on a regualr basis.

See, those two words at the start of the sentence are important - [iI assume[/i - as in I do not state it as fact.
If the assumption is wrong then I'm happy to stand corrected.

Ok, let me put it this way. What makes you assume that not just some free tickets have been given away but [ilots[/i?
What kind of figure constitutes [ilots[/i?

I don't know, but originally in South Wales they were giving out freebies to up to 50% of the attendance. It may not be that high in this instance. Lots is just a word, different people will have different interpretations of it - some would say 500 was a lot, others would say 5,000 was a lot.
Any new business will generally try to generate interest by the giving out of freebies, enticements etc
I'd be surprised if the club haven't gone into the local schools, major places of employment in the area etc and given out tickets - there's nothing wrong with that it's just good marketing.
I don't know why you are being so defensive and trying to make out that I'm having a go at them for it when I am clearly not.
As I said, lets just hope that the people who turn up tonight, whether they have paid or not, enjoy themselves enough to return in future. That's the most important thing.

What would you personally class as [ilots[/i?

I agree it would be ignorant and not very professional to ignore local business.

I was just about to say the same to you. I'm not having a go either. While I hope they go well and establish themselves for the good of the sport, I'll be more interested in Wigan and how we go.
All the best for the coming season

I think you will find that Wrexham didn't have to give many tickets away for free, such has been the interest in this match.
All the Sponsership boxes were sold out weeks ago
A major sponser has just been named - biggest deal in either Wrexham FC or the Crusaders' history
see
www.crusadersrfl.com/article.php?id=745
and there are a number of high profile companies in North Wales looking to get involved with the Crusaders
the marketing has been a tad better than last year it would appear as a 10,500 record crowd for The Crusaders is on the cards for tonight

| Kevin Ellis, late of the CELTIC Crusaders and currently on gardening leave from the Wrexham Facsimilies stated in his Glamorgan Gazette article that the gogs have given away thousands of tickets to schools.
THESE will appear in Turner's reports of ticket sales.
You may recall that he tried the same claims last year in the REAL Crusaders' inaugural home match, which settled around the 6,500 mark.
So perhaps this piece should be entitled:-
CRUSADERS IN YET MORE LIES "SHOCKER"!

Any idea how many or just speculating?

So already an improvement on last season.

You reckon? Are they that much better than last season? 'Most' is probably inaccurate, but I bet a fair few would give them a game at home. Hopefully though you're right. I hope they are competitive in SL. It just worries me when you hear their coach come out and admit they are not up to it.

No exact figures. But he should know being / having been an employee.
No not really an improvement on last season. The Celtic Crusaders' inaugural home match against 'ull FC was being touted by Turner as a sell-out (12,000 capacity the BF), but deducting all the unused frreebies given to schools, we got around 6,500.
so no, not really a "phenomenal" 50% improvement.
Still, the gogs, starved of proper top level sport COULD prove me wrong and make a success of supporting the side that stole my team's spot.
Let's see how many actually turn up (that aren't Leeds fans)
