Come on answer this one
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good idea , do you think if they ask nicely the government will change the laws on gambling in this country so we can fund our sport in the same way that RL in Australia has been ' bailed out ' for decades ?
Without the money from the ' pokey ' machines RL in oz would be on a par with NL's
Do you want to try again ?'"
i did answer it.
little tip : pokie machine revenues came in the 60s/70s.
RL was established as the dominant sport in nsw by 1909, which is well before the pokies came in.
queensland had zero pokie revenues and still RL was number 1.

| Quote: bowes "That's a false dichotomy. You can support Toulouse's inclusion without supporting a bodged rush job. If they meet the playing criteria I'll support their inclusion for 2012, but 2015 is more realistic. I do support their inclusion, but some of us are more patient about these things and don't really care when as long as it happens right.
It is not an excuse, unless what the paranoid delusional trolls claim, it is common sense to prevent another Crusaders example (with you and all the other supported rabidly and have since all changed your mind on).
Most people on here supported Catalans and yes some legitimate flatcappers opposed them and yes some Widnes fans were annoyed about losing their spot in the league, but it was nothing like the near universal, and rightfully so, opposition to Crusaders being in SL'"
wow that gave me a headache
the question wasnt asked of you.
since you feel a need to jump in i couldnt work out whether it was a yes or a no.

It was a maybe, these things aren't black and white.
Yes I want to see Toulouse in SL, but not necessarily in 2012

Why do you try to divide the world into flatcappers and when 90% of fans are somewhere in between?
It's not nonsense it is common sense, your 2012 or never idea is a pathetic lot of wishy washy nonsense.
I do have an outright opinion that Toulouse should be in SL one day, I am not a troll that it has to be an exact date
Why don't you just admit outright you are a troll?

look you were one of those people who "knew" Les Cats were going to work out in SL when they did as they are in the "heartlands" of french RL.
toulose according to you are also in these same "heartlands".
so if you knew beforehand that Les Cats were going to work out when they did, why cant you do the same BEFOREHAND with toulose?
thats the reason i asked the question. too easy

Catalans I knew would work because there was undisputably the player pool for 1 SL club in France, as shown by performances of French clubs in the Challenge Cup among other things. Toulouse's poor performances in the Championship make this far less clear cut that there is the player pool for 2 teams. If those performances improve they will be better signs of their success in SL.
The only objection I have to Toulouse in 2012 is their on field performance. Expansion*zi trolls don't value this, but if they get 60 points put on them every week they'll leak fans and sponsors like crazy. A half decent Toulouse side in SL should get decent crowds but they won't watch a side as bad as Crusaders this year.

what a load of nonsense.
UTC were playing in the french elite prior to playing in SL. you think thats a better proving ground than NL1?
the problem with making up stories is sometimes youll get caught up when someone follows the logic of your arguments.

That's not what I said, I said the strength of French players in general, not just one club, but Toulouse being in the Championship means they should be playing the best. UTC did that their last season and won easily and had both them and Pia consistently do well, but their having the best of French players was what matters. The French Elite was also a far higher standard then that it is now
I'll ask you a question and if you don't answer or answer using the word flatcapper I'll take it as proof you are a troll and want expansion clubs to fail by being rushed:
If you had a choice of Toulouse entering SL in 2012 and not being good enough or entering in 2015 and being good enough which would you choose?

the latter.
BUT toulose are ready in 2012.
perhaps following your previous logic toulouse should move back to the french elite and win the competition, like UTC did, as that will make them ready according to your criteria?

In everything but playing standards yes, but that is an essential point

They didn't even finish top half last time they played in it. If they'd left them there and they'd won the French Elite that would probably improve their chances of success, as 10th in the Championship really doesn't show a team ready for SL. That doesn't mean they should go back to the French Elite now they've switched though

being in favour of expansion means in reality not in theory which has so many impossible conditions that it eliminates expansion clubs from SL.
the RFL has tried 5 expansion clubs
only one has been an outstanding success whilst the others really have some success and some failure.
im happy if the RFL continues trying for top down expansion clubs and can only produce one outstanding success for 5 clubs that arent like that.
theres nothing wrong with trying and failing.'"
what about castleford, sheffield, doncaster, whitehaven and workington?

Both of whom had rich backers and one of which had a football team to help fund a ground (along with a supportative council, something not all teams have).
And which clubs rely on the rfl to survive and in what way? examples please dally.....

widnes, leeds and wigan have all taken peoples money and it hasnt hurt them a bit
you place conditions on expansion clubs which are impossible to fullfill thereby meaning we dont get any in SL.
nice work.
lets play the same game with heartland clubs
the only ones allowed in SL should have all seater grounds with capacity of 20,000 and average crowds of 10,000
so wigan and hull are the only two teams that should be in sl? seems more like contraction than expansion to me.
