Ok , fair enough , a £ 10 million bond put up front to guarantee 6 years at max salary cap spend should not be an issue then should it ?
If you are that confident , tell them you'll stick a couple of quid in as well

Paris - no, not until they actually have a side of some kind, playing at LER?Championship level. If they wanted it they could do it in a couple of years, at a fraction of the cost they would have to go to for one, let alone three years of SL.
TO - probably could make the step up, but they have had the chance to prove this beyond doubt but won't go to those lengths. Again, a fear to expend only a fraction of th cost of being in SL. Not inspiring, but we should hold out to see how they do in their second year.
Crusaders - a worse first year than Catalans, as they did not develop enough Welsh players to do well next year, and have failed to sign top notch players from overseas. We still should wait to see how they do next year. IF they avoid the bottom spot then we can say that they have not been a disaster.'"
Can you really see them finishing higher than any other team? I cannot see them winning one game next year if I'm honest.

nobody is saying more NRL clubs for sydney.
think about this for a while and youll understand it eventually'"

He's putting everything out there, so he can bat it back to himself on the same thread.

the clubs crowds in NL1 / championship have been very good as well.
the club last time round had a very strong business plan ensuring a good team on the pitch which would also help crowds.
when they are in SL in a few years time the facts will speak for themselves. RL in france is much more likely to work than most other expansion areas you can try
its already worked before'"
Toulouse is NOT an expansion area , they already play RL there and have done so for decades

| This thread has been derailed by dally trolling.
Can we get back to the original point before it was ruined by our resident Aussie nitwit (and short attempted effort by his partner in crime fredie in a new "disguise"icon_wink.gif...
(Someone may have to tell me what it was!...)

Well here was my contribution early on
Quote: Wellsy13 "What this does tell us , is that he already knows the next TV deal will not be increased on what it is at present
Therefore to honour the promise he made to the clubs in the Championship [ basically Widnes ] somebody is going to be sacrificed
Is it a good thing , well ?'"

London premiership sides? about a 25% instead of the nrls 50% sydney teams.
Keep going dally
your heartlands are places like wigan, saints. none of the area around manchester, heck all the RL clubs there average under 10,000!
Leeds is as much soccer as RL.
adding up all those small places where RL is stronger would it even be 1 million?

| Quote: bowes "Almost certainly yes once they see crowds of 2000 turn up. Paris St Germain is also a very big name and that failed miserably, there is not a shred of evidence Stade Francais would turn out differently and Paris failed miserably last time they tried to have an Elite 1 side, never mind anything higher.
Not when they get 60 points put on them every week, the crowds would soon drop. They were the second worst team in the Championship this year and could well finish bottom next season, with the lower Aussie quota, they only weren't this year due to Doncaster's collapse. We may as well put the team bottom of the Queensland Cup straight into the NRL on your trolling logic
Wigan average about 3-4 times what Harlequins get and come from a place 30 times smaller, whereas Toulouse is only double the size of Perpignan, albeit with far less rugby league interest. Bigger place doesn't equal more crowds.'"
widnes and bradford failed too.
on your stupid logic they shouldnt have been tried again
toulose had one of the highest crowd averages in NL1, with a crap team on the field and their first year of operation there. brilliant effort really.

Yeah I'd agree with that as well, it's pretty much what I said re: the TV deal not expecting much of an increase.
Is it a good thing? I think so. We can't grow the league anymore due to the standards of it as it is. It's already fairly diluted so we need to let standards improve first otherwise we'll have a low intensity league.
This also means Lewis is keeping his promise about promoting a club. Obviously he feels there IS an adequate replacement ready in the Championship out of the three who ARE eligible to apply, i.e. Widnes, Barrow and Halifax.
I do hope Sheffield, Toulouse and Whitehaven have a good year next year just to give Lewis a selection headache!
