On a historic note the last time Rovers were on the rise & starting to win things Wigan were on the slide & going down a division, is history repeating? if you miss the top 4 by 2 points remember where they were lost.

Yeah, well done on your two Championships and John Player Special Trophy 30 years ago. If that repeats you could well be looking forward to a Play-off semi final appearance and a CC Final runners up medal.

Ill take whatever the game gives us as I am a fan of rugby league, I expect nothing & treasure the good days.

I know, wasn't that Rovers team from back then rubbish. If only we'd spent millions of pounds bringing a gun to a knife fight in the late eighties and early nineties, with a fully pro team stacked with the world's best when our competitors were just part-timers. Well done. That's where the true honour & glory lies eh, you must be very proud!

They were at it in the 20s and in the 40s and 50s (60s to a lesser degree) always the big spenders on the back of the local big money owners etc, even one of their greats Jim sullivan was a massive signing (figuratively) from Wales RU in the 20s. They did have a barren spell and went from the mid 60s to the early 80s winning just two Lancashire cups + a floodlit trophy and an average home gate of 4,000 by 1981.. Goons, biggest a supporters in our sport & rival the likes of Man U, Liverpool & Chelsea for outright honours

| Do you realise how bitter you two sound? The sheer audacity of a team spending money on players eh? No place in our sport for that!

| Leon Pryce is a total waste of money. The Pryce family was educated at the School of Laziness. Karl was even worse.
Didn't anybody at Hull FC notice Leon's lack lustre performances at Catalans --- except for a brief spell last year when he was angling for a new contract?
Once Catalans decided to sign Todd Carney, Leon spat the dummy and decided he didn't want to play hard any more. So he was dropped in the last rounds of 2014.
Leon should be loaned to London Broncos for the rest of the year.

You pedalling the same crap you tried on the FC forum on Thursday night then? Pryce has been one of our better players so far this season.
FC announced his signing on 1st July, Catalan said they wouldn't be playing him again on 26th August, they then announced the signing of Carney on 16th September. You're account of things doesn't add up.
The Todd Carney incident happened the day before Pryce was announced as a Hull player so he already knew he wasn't going to be in France this season.

My account might not all add up but some of it adds up, namely that once Leon Pryce knew that his wasn't going to be staying with Catalans his performance level went down. His "inconsistency" of performance is something that has been noted at his other clubs. The Catalans coach decided to drop Leon Pryce because he was not playing at his capacity. No one doubts his talent. What everyone has noted is that he is not always performing to his capacity. I considered his performance against Hull KR substandard, to put it kindly (notwithstanding the bogus try he scored because of referees' mistakes). He provided little leadership. Did you think he was actually playing well by his own standards of excellence?
BTW I think that even playing well within his limits, Leon Pryce would be a good acquisition by London Broncos.

Bitter, as if
Your playing budget was probably 3 or 4 times most clubs in the league (with the possible exception of the under-performing Leeds), so yes you're right I don't think that's good for our sport or any other. It's why - like most elite sports - we're much better off under the salary cap model. It's also why if it was down to me I'd stick a massive asterisk next to any Wigan trophies from that decade

This post just shows your total lack of knowlage of the game. As someone who sat on the sideline of the derby I can asure you Price worked his butt off but could not do it all on his own, by the last 10 mins he was out on his feet. What made the difference was Rovers three & somtimes four play makers running the show & the rest of our squad were not to bad either.

I can't comment on his performances for Catalans as I only really saw them play twice when they played FC. I can only comment on his performances for FC this season which have been good, compared to the rest of the team anyway. As somebody else has said he's been a good player for us but he can't do it all on his own, needs runners & back up for a start. You're original post was incredibly harsh but I guess that would be different if he had an Australian or French accent.
