| Quote: gutterfax "That's what I meant. To sell out, all of them would have to buy weekend tickets.
I think that if the RFL/SL are going to push ahead with the MM, they need to find a way of getting the clubs to collect payment for MM with Season Tickets and maybe add a quid to the entry on the day prices of regular matches all season, with walk up fans collecting "points' that count as savings against MM tickets. You could even get the buy in from hotel chains etc so the points can be used that way.
This will cushion the cost associated with the weekend and maybe push up the attendance. I would also suggest that deals are done with the train companies to get travel to and from the heartlands sorted in such a way that if 60,000 wanted to make the journey by train they could.
I still say that Wembley should be given a go....but it would need a 50-60,000 gate each day to make it work.......and maybe a split broadcast between SKY and the BBC? Wales and Edinburgh are not going to get the "media" intersted and the only real benefit of the wekend is currently being received by Cardiff hoteliers and publicans.
Crusaders didn't grow as a result of MM and Scottish RL saw no tangible benefit. If the RFL are using MM to try to grow the game it would gain more benefit from media coverage and we all know where the Media are based.'"
If the average gate is 11k, then all the SL clubs combined would mean 151k. Only half the clubs are at home in any one round remember.
As for Wembley, as good as it would be, it might harm the CC. If it needs to be in London, use the Olympic Stadium maybe?

Without getting into a maths bunfight......the point is that away support is generally 15 to 20% of a gate......which means of the 80,000 odd a week (11k x 7 games) at games, 66k are home fans. The same the following week....so about a 132k universe to get 80k two day tickets sold......either way.....if planned and executed correctly, a "save as you spend" scheme would be good. Walk up fans get a share of their gate money back in points to redeem for MM....ST holders get their MM ticket as part of their initial cost......
Let's face it...2 night accom, travel, tickets, beer, food etc runs to a fair expense for a weekend away.....

i mean this in all seriousness that the OP is clearly on a wind up and when people get worked up by them, they get what they want.
its a sad kind of person living that kind of existence. setting up a new account, then posting things which will intentionally wind people up and also damage the supposed cause they represent

You mean like the last time, when the rfl put Celtic Crusaders into SL, only for them to move magic weekend to Scotland!!!

Further evidence of the same old guard small town clubs repeatedly failing. This game really needs to wake up and expand

No not like last time, super League in south Wales was never given a chance. They were the whipping boys for one season, hardly encouraging the masses to get behind them. If there were a competitive super league team in south Wales it would take off.

Under this id, yes.
btw: I hate to pull someone up for derailing their own thread: but according to your own thread title, this is a thread about Millennium Magic ticket sales. The other crap can go in the threads dedicated to those subjects.
Or I'll conclude it is just a troll, and lock it.

Yes the thread is about Magic weekend tickets, but it all fits together like one big jigsaw. The news reports of the near sell out of Magic weekend shows there must be a huge demand, from the south Wales public, for tickets to see super league action. Hence, a super league club should be situated in south Wales.

| They're not opening the upper tier, that's 33,000 of the 75k capacity. Neither will tickets be sold for the North Stand, the one that backs on to the old Arms Park, as it has limited facilities etc - that's probably another 15k at least. So a total sell out in this configuration would be 27,000. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising, this is the first time they've got the layout right - having the lower two parts of the bowl 80% full will create a miles better atmosphere, and look better on telly.
All in all, looking at the mix of reserved and unreserved blocks, I reckon selling out unreserved is probably about 12k.

Yes, because all the tickets are bought from people in Wales. I agree, we should include 3 more Welsh teams.

Huge demand, somehow i don't think so but if it helps you in anyway to believe it, go for it.
