| What killed the Bulldogs was the Bulldogs. There first half was terrible and that set up the Newcastle win. Forget the missed attempts by Ennis, the inept Canterbury defence coupled with what appeared to be a lack of intensity put them in a hole. There are positives in the sense they came back, but that first half is a worry. With that said, it's the first game of the season. Canterbury when they get it right will still in my opinion, be the team to beat in 2010.

| Quote: The 18th Man "Well, the blood has stopped flowing a little - I am 2/5. Won some cash too back on Penrith and Melbourne after losing a chunk on Canterbury. This is going to be a tough season. I am hoping Souths and the Gold Coast can get the job don a long with Wests Tigers. I could handle getting at least a pass mark (4/icon_cool.gif on the opening weekend.
In other news, I heard a Toyota Cup player was called in to the Tigers side to be on standby for Benji Marshall (from another forum) - not sure how much truth is in that. If he is out though, Manly resume favouritism.'"

| 3 from 7 in the tipping.
Todd Carney was brilliant for Sydney and my Fantasy NRL team (and at an attractive price - expecting that too go up now).

| Panthers were good, even better news for the fans - they have a lot to improve on. Plenty. It's a good step in the right direction. I just love the look of the team. They have a good forward pack and if you don't get excited when watching Michael Jennings play, you shouldn't be watching rugby league.

| Panthers were good but they always make loads of errors and that will cost them against better teams.
Raiders have injuries but there poor travellers anyway and it was always gonna be a Panthers win.
Surprised by the Knights winning but i tipped the Roosters, all the hype around the Rabbits it just had to happen didn't it, they say forwards win you the game and the backs decide by how many? not if the backs are average at best and they cant finish things off and although Souths have the best pack, there backs are probably one of the worst.

| I should have known better in tipping the South Sydney outfit. I liked the look of the Smith coached Roosters in the pre-season, Carney and Pearce in particular. Oh well, another year, another early round nightmare for this tipper. Looking for the Tigers to get me a pass mark tonight (or 4/8 lol).

| 5 from 7 - you sir are a star! Nice work. I took the safer (or perceived safer) options and paid dearly. The first four rounds are a nightmare.

| What a sorry ass start to the season ... 3 for 8 A new low I think.
Those well hyped prior to the season kicking off failed miserably (Souths, Eels, Doggies, Tigers) and I picked against my own freaking team. I deserve to be languishing after round one! lol

4 from 8 sounds a lot better than 3 from 8 - the Wests Tigers have come back from 20-4 down to pull off an amazing come from behind win.
50% is a pass.
Onward an upward from here.
