Hock is lucky he is getting another chance in my opinion, He is a player that pushes the boundaries of being a thug and that rubbish may cut it in England but will be found out every time by experienced players at top Test level.

The award is not for the most influential player or game breaker week in week out, its a players player award, several players that are hardly household names have been picked by team mates over the years. Think best and fairest award.

I am not detracting from Ellis as a player he is one of the best going around, as is Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

The players vote for the player they think is the most valuable to the team. The player without whom the side would suffer most. There is no one better placed (other than the coaches, who I suspect also have an input) to decide this than his team mates. Who's "fairest" or "most popular" won't come into it, and it's quite ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

really what does size have to do with it? anyhow if you think hock is small i suggest you buy a bigger tv. trent waterhouse has come over and is probably one of the bigger players at 2nd row and he isn't close to being as good as hock or even westwood (another player who would make it), we had hoffman last season and hes been a stand out this season for the best team in the nrl and many wigan fans have said hock has been better than him.

there is plenty of players in the nrl who are thugs just a few of the top of my head ennis, watmough and conrad smith all dirty players but are still good ones and them tatics do work in the nrl i watch every game so i aint just guessing.
