| Peter Sterling, the last great player Hull fc had, has claimed that expansion into North America is the absolute right thing to do as the game in the northern hemisphere is dying.
Well said that man. He gets it

He can hardly say anything otherwise Stephanie dear, he is there to promote the game no matter what mistakes it makes.
What you don't get is last night there were no North Americans on the pitch and no North Americans in the stands.
They don't play RL in Canada, Canada TV companies won't pay to show it as there's no real interest.
So maybe Argyle has to waste another $10,000,000 to try to get some real interest there?
As for dying here, we have the player production lines, we have the fans, we have the TV deals and we have owners who make their clubs work.
It doesn't work in North America, that's why they pulled the world cup. Sterling clumsily ended up having to denegrate the English game to promote the Canadian game.
Poor stuff.... Do you write his scripts perchance?

You really believe that they have the freedom to move away from the script. The script has to be to tell us all how exciting and groundbreaking it all is otherwise they will just be putting SKY viewers off. They have to play everything up and are paid to do so as the mighty Snowie says. You on the other hand are free to judge TWP with an open mind, do please try it, remembering they are here to expand the player pool and the TV deals.

I keep getting told that Sky don't want a Canadian (or any overseas) team in Super League as it isn't in their interests so why would Sky employees be paid to promote the Canadian club as you have suggested? Or is it a wider conspiracy?

You telling people to judge Something with an open mind, that your best post ever.
I await your attemp at clever response with your open mind telling us how the game should be run just for the benefit of you and your other insuler types fan base, whilst harking back to the good old days of 1982 when RL was only played in the north for northern people, when the only RL on Tv was on he BBC where they only showed highlighted and half the second half to fill a gap between the second race at Chepstow and the football results.

You don think they do commentary for nothing do you

I was being tongue in cheek but it's a fair guess that not everyone hates Toronto and wants to see them lose every game - even some of the Sky presenters.

No you are wrong, he is wrong, TWP offer nothing expansion offers nothing, the game must revert back to the heartlands asap it's our only hope, Donnyman says so and he knows it all and has all the answers and we must not disagree has he can back it all up with hard facts and has the ear of all super league chairman.

I don't hate Toronto I just think travelling 6000 miles in a league competition is not financially stable especially when they are taking players from a small player pool in the first place, I getting fed up with being told that the game should be played in beautiful locations with no atmosphere, look at last night's match it was dull due to the lack of opposition supporters

| It would appear that Toronto's main issue at the moment is a lack of Academy.
Moving forward they need some sort of Academy, having players officially working in the UK seems like a mess with apparently Canadian players not able to get work permits to play for a Canadian club. Who would a Toronto academy play against anyway. You would assume there must be some plan for Toronto to Dual Reg with Ottawa to partly solve this problem.
It would seem that an alternative would be for the Wolfpack to have a UK academy in say Cumbria, Wales, or even Rochdale/Oldham. These areas do have untapped talent and would improve Toronto's worth to the league. This is not even a novel idea, Melbourne have used a similar model very well, with feeder clubs in Queensland allowing them to discover Inglis/Slater/Cam Smith.

That's completely understandable and i'm right on the fence about it but some people do get very unreasonable about them so it's hard to have a decent discussion about it at times. They have completely stuffed themselves with this salary cap mismanagement though and I expect it will be a long, hard season for them. For it to work they needed a bit of help but also needed to get everything right and they definately haven't.
