If Rupert Murdoch's fox network were listed in Australia instead of the US it would be Australia's largest company by a long way, and it's the 4th network in the US.
It's New York - If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere - New York, New york.'"
The American market is potentially huge, but they wont take to Rugby, of whichever form, or it would already have been done. Cricket has never taken off either, China is huge, Russia is huge, South America is huge, should we have Johannasburg Jays, Beigin Bengals, Moscow Muscle to chuck in with The Toronto Vanity Project, the New York will never happens?
Are there wnough journeymen Aussies (not already in SL) to go around?

I read it back and that took me 44 seconds.
What's happening here is you can't answer me, you can't find a single NA player now and can't project any in the future, you can't name the Canadian and USA investors that supposedly exist beyond Aussie Argyle, and you cant point to a single cent from any NATV or French TV deal, nor name a single NA junior RL side, or a French born team capable of Superleague.
Add to that your inability to accept even TWP via their coach admit they offer no players and no TV money. and the imaginary Ottawa and NY are continually kicked down the road then please be my guest during the festive holiday and set out for me how your transatlantic quadrangular tournament involving English French, USA and Canadian clubs is going to work?
29 seconds to read it, spare me a few minutes to let me know how your League will work?

| There is no 'boo hoo' about your beloved Toronto stephanie, just some facts. Don't get upset, after all you're a St. Helens supporter.

Toronto promised an NATV deal so they could pay into the pot' like the English clubs do, as Toronto fans don't subscribe to SKY. The twelfth of the deal they don'r get is used to cover the high costs they create for English clubs. The reality of TV deals is worth a discussion but you are trying to turn it into an exchange of childish insults. TotalRL can provide such a service biased towards overseas clubs, which you and Mr. Capdouze may prefer if don't want to actually discuss the game?
Same questions for you once your Quadrangular dream league of Wigan, Leeds, Hull, Ottawa, TWP, Montreal, New York, Jacksonville, Boston and Catalans Avignon and Toulouse comes about how will that ever work as far as developing players and getting TV deals go?? How will owners and fans here just let it happen
Ponder this. In 2006 Les Catalans joined Superleaue so they could develop professional Quality French players to revive the once proud France National team as International RL is a valuable product we can sell to TV. To manage to compete in SL before the French lads came through they signed 9 overseas players. Since 2006 every last French game against GB, Australia and New Zealand has been a shambles and today Les Catalans have to sign 12 overseas players to compete. With no TV deal now I guess they will be ejected 2022? Your thoughts Steph???.

I thought the Catalans TV deal was of fairly recent origin. Personally, I doubt they'll be first to be shown the door, should it come to that.

Yes it was of recent origin, but SL clubs have waited since 2006 for France to provide "quality players and TV deals" 14 years on the players haven't come but the TV deal maybe saved them, but it's gone now!!.
Now there is no TV deal and very few quality French players I still may agree with you they would stay 2022 as they have a rich owner. But the 2022 deal is set to be for a 10 club league. How can we keep a failed guest club and refuse an English club? Perhaps pick me your 10 clubs for 2022 include Catalans and see who you have to leave out for them??

Yeah, IMO unless there are at least 2 French and N American sides in the British RL Premiership/SL, then it should be zero teams from there. The French shwd be building their own league. And obviously that's even more the case for NA.

Bit harsh there regarding French players.
Catalan squad was roughly 50/50 with French / Non French players and there are also a smattering of French players in SL with other clubs, Toulouse also have some decent local players.
However, the game has been played in Catalonia for many years and it's not as though they were going from a "cold start".
However,, the failed experiment in Paris is a prime example of planting a tree in a desert and once the money, together with the initial interest ran out, there was nothing left in that part of France.
If the consortium in N. America lose interest, RL will be but a distant memory.
As for TV deals, if Catalan, with a decent level of local interest, are struggling, just how difficult will it be for Toronto to secure their own deal - it's not happening and it's not likely to.

Catalans had a TV deal and there was a renewal offer made. In good old Oliver Twist mode Elstone asked for more and was told "non". Let's hope his negotiating skills prove to be a bit more successful with Sky....

What makes you think that whoever let Toronto in would want to be shot? Has Mr Robert Elstone or any of the Super League chairmen ever shown signs of suicidal tendencies?
