| Friday nights in London are a VERY hard sell.
I'm a STH holder at Quins and love league, but still find it very difficult to get to games on Friday after work.

keighley's ground held 4,400 when we played them many moons ago in challenge cup so 5,000 would be a bit of a push!

Fair call, but our Friday night figures have been even worse!
Just noting the tough market that london is to crack. Heck there is even only one RU team in 'london' these days.

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg |

| Clearly to put the "super" back into SL we need more London clubs! This is a nice stitch up piece to ease the farce of the RFL explaining why a club avg'ing less than 2500 fans is in fact a strong club and worthy of a license.

Because fan base is important, but isn't everything is evidence of the strength of Quins as a club.
(to save you reading, England youth (ie U16) squad to face France: 3 Harequins RL players, 1 Hull KR player )

Well done Quins with the Junior Development.
For the game to achieve more national media coverage would it be fair to say that this would only ever happen if a London Team became more popular and successful.

Nope....though it wouldn't hurt.
London being in ESL is about SKY TV and in turn, SKY TV's advertising revenue. There are not many NATIONAL advertisers who will pay GOOD money to advertise during a game that doesn't have a presence in the CAPITAL CITY. I have no doubt that London being in ESL makes not one jot of difference to viewing figures in the South East.......but it's what the advertiser wants that is important.

But (and this is actually a serious question GF ) didn't top-flight RL ever get shown in London pubs and bars during the winter era?
