| JC on a bicycle, would you just knock it off with the constant carping about the size of the crowds at Lamport. They outstrip most of the other Championship match attendances by hundreds and thousands and you're still picking nits about the exact count.
Stadium holds 9600 in the seats. There are 500-700 in the beer garden during the game (as one who queued for beer yesterday, I can vouch for personally counting every one of them) and another 100 or so at the south end in the VIP tents and standing.
Find something else to moan about.
As for the result - well we knew it had to happen after the run of wins and all things considered, Fev played a heck of a game and deserved the win in my opinion. We rested some key players, Fev was down some key players, but their speed and defence totally got the better of the Wolfpack. All credit to them. A good lesson for TWPto absorb before the playoffs.
Great turnout of away fans, always a delight to see how many people make the trip. and as always they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Even as a TWP fan, it was a treat to see how the team and the fans reacted to the win at the end of the game, obviously made the trip worthwhile all round.
The Featherstone team showed up at the local 3 Brewers pub after the game and got a huge round of applause from Wolfpack fans. We're appreciative like that.

| Quote: HXSparky "There are 12 sections at the Lamport, plus 4 small ones at each end, each with 20 rows of seats, so 8217 would need around 32 spectators on each and every row of each section of the ground (capacity is approx 37 on each). Even allowing for some folk standing behind the posts and in the beer garden, it didn't look anywhere close to that...
'"
The other misinformation about the Lamport crowd photos is that the west side of the stadium is always fuller than the east side. This has to do with the angle of the sun on hot summer days ... on the west side, the sun is at your back. On the east side, the sun is in your face. The tv camera is on the west side and therefore is showing you the east stadium.
Take it from me, as a TWP fan who has attended every home game except one, that the west side is always fuller than the east side, every game, so basing your counts on east stand photos will always lead you to underestimate. Pro-tip ... east side sections are odd numbered, west side sections are even numbered.

Toronto is quite a large city, with a population of only 3 million.

Were you there? No you weren't. So you are just guessing. Sixteen miles barefoot in the snow, uphill both ways.

It won't be many more than yesterday will it, because the grounds not much bigger than that attendance.
Or are they going to build an extension at the beginning of the season so that they can play the first 11 away again

...or just imagine when the promotion dream fails in the qualifiers, funding stops and the club disappears into oblivion. Both scenarios (promotion and oblivion) are possible but I think the sustainability of the club being based on a benefactor who can so easily do a runner is not a recipe for long term success.
My stance is clear on this, but I genuinely don't "wish" or "hope" for Toronto to fail. I just believe that a sustainable model like my own team (with 7 or 8 players in the squad that have come through our reserves, with an equal number of local Halifax born players) is a better way to go.
We might not have great crowds, we certainly have the lowest budget of those in the qualifiers by some margin, but we have a great coach and a close-knit team that back each other up to the hilt. We might lose 7 from 7, but we'll make each and every team work hard to take the 2 points off us.

You mean 'if'. Didn't Feath just smash them on Saturday? Going into the 8s off a loss at home like that doesn't bode well.

9,600/2 = 4,800 on each side. Let's say that the beer gazebo's at the end hold 1,000 people and that the west side was 90% full, then the East stand would only need 2,897, perfectly plausible.
It will be interesting in SL next year when Argyle discovers that CA$20 tickets + £1,800,000 central funding won't touch the sides of bankrolling in the top flight. Not one of the current squad will hack it in anything other than a relegation scrap, so he'll need to spend, but we have a cap, so he will be scrutinised....he'll find that SL chairmen don't care what his attendance figures are, only that he's just not another hungry mouth to feed......David Hughes at London spent in excess of £28,000,000 that I know of and all he's got to show for it is a 2nd tier team......let's hope Argyle has his passion and patience.......
