I think he'd be good for them. He has potential to be there for a long time and certainly his NRL experience puts him ahead of pretty much anybody in the Northern hemisphere who might have been interested.

I've been one of his biggest critics on RLFans, largely due to his comedy impact on the Bulls.

I think he was pretty good for England, but I'm still not sure if he has what it takes to be more than a good assistant at domestic level. We'll see, but there's no reason that with so much NRL experience that he won't do a lot better this time around in SL.

Hopefully he'll turn that 'sard around.

There's no guarantees, but at least the guy has clearly looked at making himself a better coach. Technically and in terms of understanding what goes on in the NRL he's way ahead of any other British coach. Whether that translates on the field is another matter, but I think he deserves a chance. He makes far more sense as a head coach than some recently retired ex-player with no experience.
