It's a different brand of RL, a lot of is thuggery and it should not be legal

| Special analysis coming up.....
The amount of house tactics tonight was ridiculous. Grapple tackles and forearms across the face was common. Especially from Thaiday.
Jennings probably deserved his sin bin, but think about it. If you play at amateur level, its a red card and an 8 match ban.
That video referee decision is quite simply the worst one ever and even the rlarrogant onerl has said it should have been chalked off.
I have more faith in the UK referees now.
Very nice.

| I thought it was a good game, im one for defences though!
Inglis' try was just a huge embarrassment for RL in Australia, i thought it was a penalty to Queensland for Farah kicking the ball out of GI's hands. The amount of grapples and little digs was phenomenal though, there wasnt a set of six where one of these didnt happen! I would as a whole say the refs had a good game though, not their fault that Hempstead lost his mind in the VR box.
Jennings did deserve his yellow, the guy ran almost 20m to "superman" punch Brent Tate. Myles should have gone too for inciting the riot and for being a massive girl by throwing the ball at someone. Mitchell Pearce has the biggest testicles in rugby league though, Thaiday begged him to swing for him so he did and landed a good one too!
Queenslands forwards showed their weakness though, a fast paced NSW had them dominating the ruck and controlling the game, Tamou and Gallen worked like machines to get them going, the back rowers were okay. Lewis was a bit hit and miss and Glen Stewart was a passenger. T-Rex was arguably the biggest let down of all though.
Good game, bring on #2!

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Thats what happens when you pick players who have been suspended for 6 weeks.

| I wasn't expecting a sin bin for Jennings especially after O'Donnell managed to stay on the pitch in 2010! Inglis try shouldn't have been given but NSW defence wasn't good enough. Uate is great in attack but comes inside from his wing too much for me. Thought Slater was poor under the high ball today, commentary was embarrassing trying to defend him because the roof was closed...

| Was definately one of the lower intensity Origin games i have seen, but enthralling all the same. I thought the Qld defence was supurb, especially as most of their forwards were out on their feet after 65 mins. Big issue for me though was the lying on in the tackle by Qld from the start. They knew they needed to slow NSW down and the ref let them away with it. NSW then got drawn into a forward battle rather than keeping the ball moving which when they did it had Qld on the back foot. There was also a lot of naivety in the NSW play when didnt help. Kicking too early, going for a 40m goal when they had the Qld team on the back foot, rushed passes in dominent positions, etc. I think they will iron those out in coming games. I also think Carney was a little over-awed, but will come good.
Jennings - deserved 10 mins
Pearce - best game in an Origin shirt
Gallen - immense
Inglis's "try" - disgrace to the game. Other words that come to mind would get me banned on here
Role on game 2

| I thought NSW's pack was miles better for most of the game. Qld though have by far the better halfbacks and more strike players across the park. Unless NSW get out to a healthy lead, I reckon Qld would back themselves to beat them by some miracle play or other, and IMO that shows in the relative confidence of the teams. NSW taking that kick at goal in the second half simply summed up that they didn't feel they could break down Qld's defence.
Not sure how anyone could say Williams was disappointing - first game back for weeks and he made big yards with the ball and bumped off defenders regularly.
Whilst NSW's halfbacks were a bit average for most of the game, I'd stick with them, as a huge problem they've had over recent years is making far too many changes from one game to the next. One change I'd definitely make is to move Hayne to fullback though. Brett Stewart is a great support player but at that level he creates zero.

| I thought T-Rex was outstanding, did what they wanted him to do, scared the life out of Queensland whenever he went at them. Ben Hannant was the stand-out for Queensland, absolute machine. Went exactly as I expected really, NSW starting very quickly before tiring at around the 20 minute mark. Not a bad game but result was rarely in doubt.

| Ricky Stuart said that the Inglis try was ok.
It was a reasonable game played at high intensity for 80 minutes.
