Matt, I think the difference is the publicity and who it's from. For example if I had the chance to see Frankie Boyle and I was easily offended (which i'm not) I wouldn't go. The same for any stand up or edgey comic. If someone who was homosexual and a RL fan followed him on twitter, he'd get offended without any ind of warning.

For me Kevin Brown is an idiot for this. An apology is necessary.

Of course it wouldn't, but that's because they're malicious names - watch Graham Norton, Alan Carr and the likes on telly and they take great pride in reclaiming the 'poof' tag. There are different levels to these sorts of things IMHO, and Brown's comments might as well go alongside jokes about Irish, Englishmen & Scotsmen et al as far as I'm concerned.

The only people that would take offence to Kevin Browns comments are the same sort of people that write to their local paper week in week out in a town near you complaining that the cane should be brought back into schools, how Tescos have increased the price of tea bags by 5p a packet and how premier league soccer players are all bad role models for their kids.

It's a throwaway comment made by a nobody rugby league player (I had to google him to find out who he played for) that no rational person would even give a second thought to.

People should stop whinging and sooking about stuff that really isn't even worth thinking about.

I think what he meant was it doesnt matter where you go in this world you will always see and/or hear comments that don't fit in with what you find acceptable.

I'm not sure what planet you came from but RL players don't sit around in the sheds at half time or at training sessions (or indeed nights out) drinking milk and eating ambrosia whilst discussing stamp collecting and what to bring to the local churches bring and buy fete you know.

I wouldn't be bothered if he says it with friends etc in private but the fact he's posted it on a personal twitter account what can be accessed by anyone is foolish and he shouldn't have done it.
