Hope it take off.
Let's hope so. I'd certainly watch them.
Just hope they don't name it after Bridgend though and cut it off to a lot of South Wales as it is quite tribal, so to speak, down here.'"

I like the names Glamorgan Celtic. Or if its owned by BFL why not a tie in ala harlequins so maybe Bridgend Ravens / celtic or Glamorgan RAvens.?
I like the sound of this more and more.
Remember with LS not involved more people will come and watch.!'"
Why should leighton samiels involvement impact the attendance? Was this the case before?

| This is good news.
I hope this time they are allowed to develop at their own pace and grow organically and the same mistakes aren't made again. If they're a good enough club then they'll get to SL eventually. Lets develop South Wales naturally instead of artificially this time.
Though you can guarantee that if they have a half decent start in CC1 then some people will be starting threads about how they must be put into SL in 2012

err....at the risk of stating obvious.........didn't Bridgend have one of these and then didn't want it anymore and wanted to be Superleague? They didn't win anything as I recall.

History. Ancient History mate. Lets just say he and his ways are not best liked down here. The Crusaders are the 4th club (2 Union & 1 soccer before) that he has owned/invested in. One just survived and is still struggling, one is no more, one fell down the leagues and has not recovered and the jury is still out on the Crusaders.

What he said. Success can only be defined as such when it is achieved on a level playing field, and I sincerely hope that this new club gets off the ground and continues the good work in the communities of the Bridgend area that the Crusaders appeared to be undertaking.

If they didnt turn up for a Superleague team why would they bother with an amateur (or should I say ANOTHER amateur) RL club?'"
3,500 turned up on average for the SL team. Even half that would be a decent crowd in the championship. As long as they're realistic about paying players, there's no reason they can't establish themselves.

YES
Bridgend rfc had money problems they asked true die hard supporters to dig deep and buy a 3 yr season ticket most did 1 yr down the line LS came in people with 2yrs left on season tickets he wouldnt honour so that peeved supporters off
lost about 500 supporters
then came the celtic warriors crowds of 1500 to 4000 most games
what did he do got rid of them peeved off more supporters
so when CC started up why do you think people in bridgend/s wales dont trust him and he got no support nowt to do with CC one man LS
the new team thats starting up will have nothing to do with him and never will so imo i would say the new team will get an anything from 400 upwards a game but i thing about 700/1000 would be more like it
have said all the long its not if he will walk away it when like he always have
was the CC marketed NOT MUCH
will the new team YES 150%
will one man be involved NO

| Bit of a joke, they can't sustain one team, now they want to add another? Sounds like politics to me and I would suggest the RFL tell them to get their act sorted out in Sth Wales before they consider any thing else from that part of the world.

| It's brilliant news that all that great effort in South Wales will not be wasted. Any club name and Website yet? I for one wish them all the success and will definately buy a replica strip when available.

| I remember our first trip to Bridgend a couple of years ago. On speaking to quite a few locals tehy all stated that they would never support a team that L.S. was part of. Due to the bad feeling towards him from his past endeavors. Hopefully this could be the making of RL in south Wales. The locals no longer have a reason not to support the local team. Lets see how this unfolds. How can a new team not be a good thing for RL?
